I think that we are dealing with some fairly ignorant people here (not you, the Obama voters), who simply think they are getting free money. I think that when dealing with stupid people, we should keep it in terms that they can understand: You punished me (the rich), so now I will be forced to punish you.
There are plenty of Libertarians who would already understand this concept. I think a socially conservative fund (like a green fund) would also be a good idea.

Yes, but I think the conservatives are WAY BEHIND on this concept.
Hell, most of the time conservatives argue in principle parallel to the left — it’s not NO TAXES it’s a DEGREE OF TAXATION — which is arguing the SAME THING. With this weak stance it’s only a matter of time before the masses clue in that the choice is really between “free” stuff and even more “free” stuff.
The left gets it. They know that to get a 10% tax they have to start by demanding a 20% tax. To fight taxes you have argue AGAINST TAXATION to have ANY HOPE AT ALL of maintaining LOW taxes. Conservatives love to call me naive on this one — all the while their taxes keep climbing and climbing. Reagan argued AGAINST government and AGAINST taxation.
We’re doomed if conservatives are our only defenders of the constitution.
