"people don’t even know what sin is."

The most politically incorrect word in the English language is not of four letters. It has nothing to do with one's gender or skin color. It is "sin."

Watch what happens if you even utter it in the presence of a God-hater.

A letter I wrote to my friends tonite. This is what is coming our way:

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The worst has happened as our nation has elected to its highest office an abominable, godless, hypocrite who calls himself a Christian. But the sad thing is he is a reflection of the decadence and decay that our people really are and the sad state of Christianity in the United States. It also shows how far gone the United States really is. God has no choice now but to render His judgment upon this nation and punish it for its wickedness and anti-christ spirit. And punish it He will as He is just. This is coming swiftly and God will not spare those who voted for Obama especially those who call themselves Christian. They will be punished four times worse than unbelieving people, because they are supposed to know better. He is going to atone for the blood of 53 million babies which have been killed from abortion, our cultural decadence and many other things. While praying prostrate before the Lord tonite the Holy Spirit lead me to Jeremiah 17 and these verses jumped out at me:

5Thus says the Lord:
Cursed are those who trust in mere mortals
and make mere flesh their strength,
whose hearts turn away from the Lord.
6They shall be like a shrub in the desert,
and shall not see when relief comes.
They shall live in the parched places of the wilderness,
in an uninhabited salt land.

7Blessed are those who trust in the Lord,
whose trust is the Lord.
8They shall be like a tree planted by water,
sending out its roots by the stream.
It shall not fear when heat comes,
and its leaves shall stay green;
in the year of drought it is not anxious,
and it does not cease to bear fruit.

9The heart is devious above all else;
it is perverse—
who can understand it?
10I the Lord test the mind
and search the heart,
to give to all according to their ways,
according to the fruit of their doings.

11Like the partridge hatching what it did not lay,
so are all who amass wealth unjustly;
in mid-life it will leave them,
and at their end they will prove to be fools.

12O glorious throne, exalted from the beginning,
shrine of our sanctuary!
13O hope of Israel! O Lord!
All who forsake you shall be put to shame;
those who turn away from you* shall be recorded in the underworld,*
for they have forsaken the fountain of living water, the Lord.

Those of you who stood for the truth will be protected but you will see things come upon this country and probably many who you know which will cause you great heartbreak. Read Psalm 91. I am enclosing a prophetic word again that I sent out in July which shows what will befall this country in the coming weeks, months and years so you can prepare yourself for the incredibly rocky and harsh road which awaits us. This nation will never be the same again and will probably break apart in chaos and civil war. We need to pray to God for His mercy and protection.

Thank you for this. I am still crying, no words can express the shock I’m in. I’ll keep reading this over and over. I know in my heart GOD does everything for a reason. We have to stand on that.....

Be of good cheer, Keep the faith, teach your children (or grandchildren), and bide your time. It seems America needs periodic reminders that 'there ain't no free lunch'.

A generation has passed since the Carter years.

We must make sure there is another Reagan (or better!) to step up when the meltdown occurs.

Wow. Thanks for that. The scripture, esp., is most appropriate.

Rumblings of Chaos and civil war began with the Kerry defeat. They, like we, realized ideological battle lines have long been drawn. Geographical ones have yet to materialize. It seems inevitable, though, barring some unforeseen miracle. I would suggest we take the U.S. Constitution (with modifications for the two most jarring controversies owing to limited data available at the time in inception). I would take our Bill of Rights, as is. In that way, we honor the wisdom of our fathers, and do not, as so many arrogantly pretend, try to "do it better" because we're so much smarter, etc.

We do this noble work with prayer, gentleness, compassion for our adversaries, where the peaceable solution suffices (house swaps with red-staters?), but with ruthless abandon where it does not.

Thomas Jefferson, who recognized the need for a little revolution every twenty years or so, would be proud.

Pray for America. Turn off the TV.

Today, we must begin to fight to take back America. Start by boycotting the media who elected this "person".

My news will come from here. No Fox, CNN, MSNBC. I will stick to the History and Shopping Channel :).

We have been measured and found wanting. The souls of all the infants killed in the last 30 plus years will be the judge of our people.

We as individuals may be saved, but I fear the dream that was the United States of America is gone. Perhaps it has been gone for a while now.

Perhaps we have been to lazy and lukewarm, and God has decided to give us a trial to strengthen our faith.

Judging from my family stories and how few were left after Nazi Germany, we don’t keep our mouths shut.

Made a decision a long time ago not to go quietly. If the darkness really falls, I will be the one singing hymns into the camps.

Lord willing, given the strength only He can provide, I will not go quietly into the night....

I pray I have the courage to stand on the shoulders of Corrie ten Boom, Dietrich Bonhoffer and many more God has given us ....

Last night, God answered our prayers regarding the American people being touched and persuaded to not elect Barack Hussein Obama, and the answer was no.

We have a lot of work to do, but now there is nothing for it but to hitch up our trousers and go to it. We must continiue to work, educate, stay prepared, and to pray, even as you so eloquently and spiritually have done here Joanie, and work as you have done so hard there in PA. We must continue to do these things for our children and grandchildren, and we must never lose hope or faith.

Barack Hussein Obama's vistory was not a near thing. No one can say it was stolen...even if a few hundred thousand votes likely were...which is a travesty. But the win was much larger than that. It was not a Reagan style blow out, but it was very convincing. The American people chosen and they have done so by a significant majority and a large electoral vote.

There were many reasons for that choice, not the least of which is the huge numbers of people who are already hooked on the public largess and who are entangled and emshed in its binding chords to vote for whomever promises them more.

Obama promised more and it is likely that their numbers will grow under his administration.

In addition, millions of people bought into what I consider a lie that Bush was "bad" and we needed to change away from anything remotely similar to him. Bush has made some mistakes, some of them significant, but in general his administration has not been as terrible as it has been made out to be at all.

We have not been attacked again. No spin can change that. 40-60 million people who have never tasted freedom now do, and in a part of the world where they can be our allies and bring a watershed change for the better where it is most needed.. Up until this housing and credit crisis, which has been severe, and which is a direct result of democratic initiatives, our economy under Bush has soared.

But the mindless craving for change which has produced this vote, IMHO, may lead to unimaginable terror here at home...I pray not.

Millions more voted for Obama simply because he was black. And not just black Americans. Millions of heretofore conservative leaning people felt this was some kind of historic duty and the result certainly is historic and despite his horrible ideology, does historically represent a watershed occurrence which in and of itself may well say good things about our nation and where we have come on race...but history may well mark their choice as a terrible one...again, I pray we avoid the worst horrors of his brand of Marxism, but it looks likely that we will live with it for the next four to eight years and the terrible consequences it will bring.

Having said all of that, there are a couple of reasons and glimmers for hope in the election.

First, Democrats were kept from a 60 seat, filibuster proof senate. The Republicans, if they have the courage and the will, can hold up the worst legislation and we need to encourage them with all of our strength to do so.

Second, and IMHO, even more importantly, it seems that all of the Bans on Gay Marriage will pass in the three states they were up for vote as constitutional amendments. This will be critical for the future of our children and grandchildren and for the sanctity of marriage and the marriage ceremonies conducted in our churches. God in Heaven be thanks for that. It gives us hope in avoiding a complete moral breakdown

I pray for our nation, and pledge myself within my own sphere of influence to continue to work for her welfare. My prayer to God in Heaven is that we shall all do the same wherever and whenever we can, and that God, at some future date, will recognize and bless these efforts and our sincere pleas to Him, and bless us to turn things back around.

We most probably are going to see very difficult and trying times before that happens and we will all have to be valiant, courageous, virtuous, and most of all, faithful to Him and to the foundational principle He has established liberty upon for it to happen, and for us to be prepared when it does happen....because as surely as night follows day, I believe with all my heart that it will happen if we do those things.

Thanks for your post, joanie-f. A beautiful prayer, except I have trouble with the WE part. Most of us have been fighting against everything the prayer mentions, all of our lives.

However, I can wholeheartedly and gladly pray for my country, and thank you much for the post!
