It is surreal .. I am numb inside, and a bit queasy.

Sorry, but you cannot win a war if both sides play by different rules. If that was true we wouldn't be winning in Iraq. Having grown up on the south side of Chicago I think I know a thing or two about the "Chicago way"... Tonight wasn't it. Tonight was something much bigger and beyond that. We need more activism from our side of the fence. If we don't, the Ron Paulians will Next time around (2012) and they will reap the fruits of their labor, not us.

I live in a city with the largest concentration of military in the U.S., Marines and Navy.

I have many relatives in the military and I know how they feel having a Marxist now as CIC.

G’night all. Just want to say thanks to JimRob and everyone at FR for being the one place I can go on days like these. I’ll be in “tune out” mode for a while but of course I check in here for breaking news events. Deep down I knew this day was coming for a while but as an old ballplayer I don’t assume defeat until the last out is made. It stinks what has happened but such is life. I know everyone here tried real hard to with their votes and voices as I did. Despite everything because of FR we know there are many others like us when we feel overwhelmed by vote totals. God bless all of you and thanks for your insights. Even the false hopes given to me (and from me) here as of late I don’t take as a waste or a manipulation, but rather an attempt to see a way to a victory that didn’t unfold.

Thank you for your comment. I have to rely on a sense of humor to keep from what happened tonight from giving me a coronary and putting me in an early grave.

I don't want to sit around and cry and be despondent for four years... I want to fight. I want a new GOP. This is like 1976 for me, a loss yes, hurttful yes, but now like then, a chance to rebuild the party and take it back from those who betrayed us and our conservative principles. I want to be a Reagan Republican and no SOB RINO's going to stop me from claiming our political birthright.

So to all the Beltway and Manhattan elitists in the Republican party, say hello to our new friends, Sarah P., Bobby J and Paul R., and as in the lyrical words of Patty Smyth and Scandal, we say "Goodbye to You!"
