Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell told reporters this afternoon that he is "optimistic, but by no means overconfident" about Barack Obama's chances in the state.
Speaking at the city political establishment's annual luncheon at the Famous 4th Street Deli in Queen Village, Rendell said that voter turnout "looks to be good all over the state," and is "going to be very good" in Philadelphia - although not as high as he had hoped.

McCains campaign was too poorly organized and there are too many disgruntled employees talking to the media trying to portray the lovely Sarah Palin as a rogue diva.
He has run a very organized and brilliant campaign. And there have been no stories of disgrunted employees that I've read.
Since you just signed up - 10/27 - I assume you are here only to inject lies into threads.

Voting is heavy in Western PA. It will go McCain. The swing suburbs around Philly and Pittsburgh will follow suit. Core Philly should normally offset but Obama is not going to get what Kerry got and I'll be surprised if he betters Kerry's turnout.

Indeed. Too-obvious handle and born-on date, but not as stupid as usual - makes nice comments about Sarah Palin, talks about freedom . . . but all in aid of his voter-suppressive statement that a McCain win in PA still gives McCain little chance of winning.
PA is the ballgame.

Not sure what happened, but I was wrong (i think). I swear it was white but it’s not now. Nothing has changed there (yet). Sorry for the misinformation.

I have read that Obama has to come out of Philadelphia with a large lead to overcome the rural areas and western coal mining areas of Pennsylvania.
Those places with all the racist bitter clingers that Obama wants to put out of work.

Hi Doug,
Know this one?
“If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of
servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home
from us in peace.
We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick
the hand that feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you;
and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.”

If voting in Philadelphia is less than expected, McCain-Palin will likely win Pennsylvania and the election. Regardless of who wins, Philly will burn tonight.
