On Mondays CBS Early Show, co-host Julie Chen introduced a new campaign segment: "...throughout this morning, we're bringing you the voices of Americans and what they're thinking as they prepare to vote."
In the brief video clip that followed, Colorado Springs City Council member Jan Martin Described herself as a "lifelong Republican" explained: "I think we are at a place and a point in time where hope and unity are two things that this country needs more than anything."
The only problem is that Jan Martin was similarly touted by the New York Times in early October, at which point, NewsBusters P.J. Gladnick discovered that she was a member of the Colorado Springs chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union and Colorados Gay and Lesbian Fund.
In the Early Show segment Martin worried: " There's an uncertainty of what it will mean to my future political career, but I really believe that this election was too important not to -- not to take a stand."

Oh please, Jan. No self-respecting life-long Republican would base his/her (its?) vote on “hope and unity”.
Most Republicans base their votes on reasoned logic grounded in fact. Not fluffy clouds of emotion whipped up by some guy’s charisma.

If it were not for lies, what would CBS use to fill their air time?
I guess it would be fair to assume that the advertisers on CBS also lie and don't deserve our business. Works for me.

Today's "newsies" are so stupid they'd probaby fall for it. Today's newsies only "fall" for dem tricks. It's like going to a store where all the price "mistakes" are in stores' favor - that's theft. I can't think of any "mistake" the MSM has made in our favor. Ever.

Yeah, and tomorrow we’ll see how many “lifelong Democrats” will flip the bird to the Marxist racist and his band of idiots.

These lifelong Republicans remind me of the Old man at the whorehouse in Catch 22
Old man in whorehouse: I was a fascist when Mussolini was on top. Now that he has been deposed, I am anti-fascist. When the Germans were here, I was fanatically pro-German. Now I'm fanatically pro-American. You'll find no more loyal partisan in all of Italy than myself.
