That may not have been her wishes.
My mother, 82 today, has made it clear in no uncertain terms that she wants no extraordinary measures. Although her basic guidline leaves a little wiggle room. If there's a *good* chance she'll get better, then do the treatment. Otherwise, make her comforatable. As it happens she has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer that spread to her lungs after her masectomy. The treatment appears to be working, and it has caused her no side effect problems. Turns out that breast cancers are one which respond quite well to this treatment. The only thing I wonder about is why they didn't give her a round of it right after the surgery, instead of waiting until the metastized fragments started causing problems in her lungs.
Her husband died this past January!!
After the grieving period she still live by herself in her own home!!!
I thought Mrs. Dunham was ill from broken hip???
