On Nov. 3, Hawn, an Austin, Texas, businessman, pleaded guilty to one count of criminal mischief and one count of cruelty to animals. He agreed to pay more than $157,000 in restitution, including $83,362 to Downare and $70,000 to seven charitable organizations which care for animals.
He also agreed to pay $4,007 to the Park County Sheriff’s Office.
Hawn, 44, will be sentenced on Jan. 28 and could receive up to 10 days in jail as a condition of probation.
Among the animals slaughtered were three big trophy bulls, worth $4,000 each, and one yearling bull.

10 days in jail? Ten years would be about right for this scofflaw.
If this “high roller” actually does 10 days, I will find some satisfaction. I may be going to “hunt” these buffalo pretty soon for some freezer meat. With the owners permission, of course. You ever had buffler hump?
I’d like to see him get the ten days but he probably won’t.
One other thing that I haven’t seen written about is that it seems he still owns his ranch. I wonder just how much cooperation he’s going to get from the people that live in the area or county officials as far as that goes, I believe he’ll be a very unwelcome person in that part of the country.
