A couple of ways this can be used. In the following States, one could use the angle of your power bill skyrocketing.

In these States, you can go right after the threat to people's jobs.

As far as coal and electricity production. I live in S FL and we have Florida Power & Light or FPL. FPL has pretty good rates because we have a mix (or diversity - hate that word) of power sources with nuke, coal, nat gas, purchased, etc. By have a mix of power sources - utilities can keep their costs lower.

You yank coal from the equation and your costs go up because you just have oil or nat gas and maybe nuke. Wind and solar as a majority of your sources is a pipe dream. Geothermal could be the future but not yet.

My electricity costs would go up and high elec costs are job KILLERS for businesses.
