If the MI number was true, we would see McCain or Palin making a visit there. Since we are not, then I am guessing this is not true. Additionally, McCain’s pollster said they stopped taking internal polls Thursday night because all the ad buys had been made. I hate to throw cold water on this, because I too want to believe, but this all sounds made up.

It may be a late development, too late for the campaign to alter its plans. I think Obama will take MI but his margin will be lower than Kerry's. Not a resounding vote of confidence in the One.

the real story of michigan, or as I call it, the peoples democratik republik of michigan, is that obama is spending tons of money here on ads and polls..I got a poll call last week...that would tell me that michigan is still in play

If we were T-minus 5 days out — I'd agree with you.

With 20-30 hours left? I'm not so sure... Even media buys are tight on this timeline and the travel logistics are a nightmare — McCain is on Monday Nite Football with bho tonight... they have to get back to vote on Tuesday AM...

My guess is that MI is tightening up for us — but it is too late for us to do anything but cross fingers... McCAin/Palin has a modle and plan for winning w/o MI and at this pt. they are committed to execute on that plan...

In any event, a surrogate in MI would help but who is a good rep? Lieberman is too cerebral and low key — rudy is too “ny”, Fred Thompson would be pretty strong. Anyone else come to mind?
