ELECTION DAY PRAYER THREAD -- MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE!!
Vanity ^ | 11-02-08 | cww

Posted on 11/02/2008 1:40:01 PM PST by CWW

Freepers -- It's all over but the shouting.

Now is the time to make the only REAL and lasting difference through prayer.

Prayer can make a difference. Fear, worry and angst do not and are the tools of the enemy.

I'll lead the way -- Please add your prayers!!

Heavenly Father, please forgive our country for the many times we have turned our backs to You and have chosen our own way. Return to us, Oh Lord. Forgive our manifest shortcomings and welcome us back into your fold. Be with our Country as we approach election day and cast this truly momentus vote.

Whatever the result, Lord, keep our eyes and throughts focused on your will and strengthen us to stand in the breach to defend your Church and our love for you.

Forgive our enemies and soften their hardened hearts. Lift the cloud of Satan from their eyes so that they may see the Truth.

In Christ's name we pray. Amen.

God does not care about national elections. If he did, we would not have the choice we have.

Uhhh, I think you didn’t think before you said that.

Lord, let Your will be done in this election. Please protect the candidates and their families, as well as the voters who make their way to the polling places on Tuesday. God, if I may, I ask that you open the eyes of Americans who are determined to vote for Senator Obama despite the huge red flags that have been raised. I beg for Your protection for our nation, even as so many Americans are hellbent on defying You at every turn.

I know that You are in control and there’s nothing too great for You. God, the media and the polls tell us that the candidate who refuses to honor the sanctity of innocent life will win resoundingly. But, Lord, You already know the outcome, right down to the last vote. You know what will happen between now and Wednesday morning. I pray that we will remain faithful to You in our votes. I pray that Christians will refuse to sit home and thereby hand over the White House to a false messiah. There is only one The One, Lord, and He is You. Please guide and direct the votes of even those who don’t know You and don’t seek Your will. Just work in their hearts and have them vote as You choose.

I pray for the safety of our communities and citizens after the election results are in. Please protect ALL of us from the violence and chaos that could come with frustration, anger, or even jubilance.

Father, no matter what happens on Tuesday, I trust in You. My hope is not in any president, but in You. I thank You for the blessings You’ve bestowed on America for centuries, and I pray that we will soon return to You as a nation and find ourselves squarely in the center of Your will. Thank You, Lord. I love you.

In Jesus’ name I pray,
Amen

I am praying here in Greenville, SC that God will continue to show His mercy on America...at least for a little while longer, to protect us from the faux Obama “winds of change” ... to remove the blinders from those who refuse to see the dangerous track we are headed from which there may very well be no return....praying earnestly, unceasingly.

Father, we are a nation with many faults. There are many that hate you and your Son. There are many who say they belong to you, but do not listen for your voice and do as they please, making them no different than those that hate your name.

Despite our weaknesses and human shortcomings, you have blessed this nation for over 200 years. You have raised up many brave, courageous leaders to lead us through perilous times. This nation was founded by forefathers who desired to be free from tyranny and oppression and to allow all men to enjoy liberty and exercise the rights that you bestowed upon us. While there are some who take our freedom for granted and do not appreciate your blessings upon this nation or those who have fought to preserve them, there is still a remnant of those you love you and love this nation that was established upon your principles.

This remnant that belongs to you sees our freedoms and liberties being stripped away one by one and we fear that if the wrong leaders are elected in this election we may see them erode further or completely disappear.

We beseech you, Lord, to hear our prayers and cries of mercy. Please forgive us of our complacency and preserve us once again. We know there was a fierce spiritual battle in the 2000 election and we know that our prayers were answered. We know that President Bush is a human, prone to make mistakes, but we also know that he was the man anointed to wage the war against the evil of Islamic terrorism. He has also appointed Godly men to the Supreme Court of the land. We are so very thankful for these victories; however, we fear these victories will be short-lived if the wrong leaders are elected on Tuesday.

Our prayer, Lord, is that you will open the eyes and ears of those searching for truth. In these final hours, please reveal your will in all of our hearts. Remove the spiritual blindness from our eyes. Allow to see the candidates for who they really are so that we may make righteous choices and select candidates who will truly serve you and serve your people.

Many forces have risen against Senator McCain and Governor Palin. Sarah Palin has been especially attacked because of her faith and love of you and living out her faith, such as protecting and preserving the life of the unborn. On the other hand, we have a candidate who refuses to respect human life, even out of the womb.

Please touch the hearts of those who want to make the right choice. Please help us to make a wise choice as a nation. We ask for your angels to fight on our behalf in the spiritual realm. Ultimately, Lord, we ask for your will to be done in this nation and in our lives. In Jesus name, amen.

Before I gave the closing prayer for Church this morning I reminded the folks in the congregation, if you don’t feel like voting, that they owe it to the 100’s of thousands of military men and women that have given their lives to give and maintain their right to vote. Then I closed with this passage from Psalms 139:13 which drives my passion AGAINST abortion.

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Heavenly Father let this country vote Your will and not ours. In Jesus Name, AMEN

I've been interceding for McCain, Palin, and my country throughout this election. I am even praying for Barack Obama, that his heart will be changed (no pun intended), and that his eyes be opened to truth. I've actually been praying that he have a "Damascus road experience" with Jesus. Nonetheless, I will join you on this thread as it is prudent we continue to pray regardless of the outcome of this election.

Heavenly Father, again, I come before You on behalf of this great nation; one that was founded upon the desire to worship You freely and unhindered by man, and as one established in Your principles.

Father, first we ask for your forgiveness for our drunkeness in material things and our following ideologies that promote our own will and that do not line up completely with Your word and Your will. We repent of our wicked ways Father. We renounce all things unholy and all things that are not pleasing to You. Father, as we turn from these things and thoughts, we ask that You fill us anew with Your reviving Spirit. We seek Your face for the direction of our nation, and not just Your hand.

Lord, the future of a great nation and her people are in question and in peril. Father, we acknowledge that You and You alone are sovereign, and You are the One who sets up kings and tears down kings. Lord, we also know that You are merciful and that You will forgive a repentant people, and stay the judgement intended for them.

Heavenly Father, concerning this election for our future leaders, we ask that You render useless every evil thing perpetrated against John McCain and Sarah Palin, two that hold dear to their hearts Your principles, and we declare Your word that NO WEAPON formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises up against them shall be condemned. Lord, we ask, according to Your word, that every thing that has been done in the cover of darkness be revealed in the light, and those responsible receive justice according to the law of this land.

Father, we declare that You and You only are righteous, and Your judgement is righteous. We plead the blood of Your precious Son, Jesus, over this land. We ask for Your divine protection for our country and her people. Father, revive our hearts, rekindle the flame within us, make us mighty and great again for Your purpose. Draw us Lord back to You. Lord, help us to be mindful that we need Your guidance, Your mercy, and Your help every day, not just in times of peril.

Lord, we ask this of You in faith, believing that Your word will not return to You void, and we praise You and give You all of the honor and glory. In Jesus' mighty powerful name. Amen.

With respect, God does care about the things that concern His people. This election concerns His people who live here now, and it concerns those to come; those whom He has fearfully and wonderfully made, and knit intricately and majestically together in the womb of their mothers, and who face being murdered before they see the light of day out of the womb. God cares very much my FRiend. He has given us a mighty gift of choice in this country with regards to choosing our leaders, and I believe He expects much discernment on our parts, when we exercise this choice.

Amen to that. Someone larger than us has to come and help put McCain/Palin over the top. I am confident that will happen.
