Post 17? Yes, I agree with that post for the most part. It was an “attack” if you want to call it that, on the objectivity of FR especially regarding the market predicting Obama or McCain. Did Obama make the Japanese yen soar against the soaring dollar and the dollar soar against the Euro? The best reasoning for that was unwinding carry trade which has nothing to do with any elections anywhere.

One thing I didn't expect was for oil to drop so percipidicly. I really thought our economy was in trouble.

But since all over seas markets are falling and defaulting on loans, there is no hobgoblin sitting on the horizon ready to gobble up all the failed institutions and nations.

Basically, we all default together, we all end up owing one another at the same rate.

In the end it is a wash. The market should roar back in spring 2009.
