Rendell says race is closer than polls indicate (Sites the Palin as reason for tight race)
Times Leader ^ | 103108 | Bill O'Boyle

Gov. Ed Rendell Friday said the presidential race between Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain is "closer than the polls indicate." Urging people to get out and vote in Tuesday's general election, Rendell said Obama does not have a double-digit lead in Pennsylvania and he told voters to take an umbrella and dress warmly to withstand the weather.

"Stay in that line and make sure you vote," Rendell told about 50 people at Wilkes University. "I've seen polls that have the race as close as four points."

Rendell also said the addition of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to the Republican ticket has "enthused" the campaign. "She has drawn thousands of people to every event she has appeared at," Rendell said. Read the whole story in Saturday's The Times Leader.

Agree..if “pickle boy” won by 140K with very little crossover loss, how the hell could McCain lose? He won’t.

Obama knew PA would be a problem from the first moment he decided to stiff Hillary for his VP. For this reason he picked Biden with his Scranton boyhood BS. Biden has been a huge disappointment for the One even tough he spins that Sarah is a drag on McCain.

I’m not sure, I only heard a little of it, but there is a thread on here about it.

I’ve been saying all along that the Clintonistas were going to sabotage Obama.

inside scoop...anecdotal evidence. I was at Scranton Republican Headquarters to help with phone calls. I learned that the PUMAs want to cut Barack’s throat. They are hopping mad because Obama stole the caucases in the primary by busing in people from out of state.

When the Clintons were here recently for a Baptism they stayed at a financial officer for the MCCAIN campaign with whom they are good friends.

The RothChild woman who is supporting McCain was invited to the baptism party but Joe Biden who was also in the area at the same time WAS NOT invited.

Obama is bribing the Clintons to appear with him on campaign $1 mil for every appearance to help retire the Clinton campaign debt.

Although this is anecdotal it does give our side hope that we can and will pull this one out.

I have to give you credit. You were saying PA wouldn’t go for Obama for weeks now...waaaay before the media picked up on the fact the state was in play, or before Rendell made his public statement about his “concern” the state wasn’t as safe as Obama thought.

*I’m praying you are right on this one*

And the Clinton knife digs deeper into Barry’s $600 million empty suit.

When Gov. Rendell stated a few days ago that Baraq needed to get back to Pennsylvania because the race is tightening that he was building his excuse. I think Rendell will just go through the motions of delivering PA, doing just enough so that he can't be accused of not campaigning for Obama. Then when Obama loses, Rendell can say he tried but he couldn't get Obama to listen to his warnings.

Then Rendell will immediately open the Pennsylvania office of Hillary2012.

Has Rendell gone “rogue”? I thought Gov. Palin was a drag on the ticket?

Sarah is hated by many, including liberals and the George Will types, who are perfectly content to be pet conservatives. That means they'll snuffle that things would be better if only they were in charge, while actually being quite content to be the token at the liberal networks. Never trust anyone who claims to be a conservative that wears a bow tie.

The big fear of Sarah is that twenty years after Reagan left office, the Rockefeller Republicans and the far left thought they had finally delivered a death blow to Reagan's vision of limited government and lower taxes. Schumer even announced that Reaganism is dead. Then Sarah comes along and energizes the base.

The press, Rockefeller Republicans and leftists HAVE to destroy Palin.

You are always so positive about McCain’s chances in PA. Your posts can be a real pick me up. I so hope you are right. I’m in VA and am quite nervous about things here.

Fast Eddie isn’t enthused about Obama, so the Philly Democrat machine won’t be as enthusiastic either.

I live in the hometown of former speaker of the house Sam Rayburn...where everyone was a Democrat and personally knew Mr. Sam. They would rather cut off their arm than to vote Republican...although the President did carry the county in 2000 and 2004 barely. In 2004 there was signs everywhere for the traitor kerry....this time I have seen two yard signs for the magic negro and his sidekick “babble” in the whole country and adjoining one as well. Granted Texas is a safe state for McCain....but to only see 2 signs has to be an indication of the country’s mood other places as well.

Actually, I’ve been saying it for months ;)

Just took everyone else a bit longer to get there is all.

By next week I’m going to be the belle of the ball or eating some serious crow.

I won’t hold my breath waiting for the MSM to pay me big bucks for a contract though, even though I have every confidence I’ll have called this race sooner and more accurately than any of their pundents.

Oh, George Stephenhoweveryouspellit is going to be soooooooo mad!

The first time I realized that the media was in the tank for the liberals was after the 2000 election, when he was saying about how "Our" candidate was having Florida "stolen away" or some nonsense like that. I think he was on the verge of tearing up...

Oh, how I want to see him crying again come Nov. 5.

Look at it this way,

Kerry took the state by 140k votes, his advantage out of Philly was 500-550k, he picked up another 100k with Allegheny Co (pittsburgh) and Erie.

Now he won a few more counties a few by 10 and a few by less than 10, but those are the big pockets... he had a 600-650k vote margin over Bush coming out of the cities, and held on to only 140k.

Now, lets say Philly area goes hog wild and he comes out of Philly with 600-650k votes. I doubt this will happen, but lets give it to them for sake of argument, I guarantee he won’t get allegheny by 90k.. not even close, but hell lets toss on 90k more.. thats 690-740k advantage give him the 10 he got out of ERIE.. 700-750k That’s only 100 to 140k advantage over Kerry or 240 to 280k margin over BUSH totals. Now those paying attention know I’m giving FAUXBAMA INSANE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT WITH THESE NUMBERS....

Now lets assume 20% to 25% of the folks who voted for Hillary 1.26 Million votes are PUMAs... that’s 252k to 315k votes. Now assuming NOTHING else changes, nothing but this, You have Fauxbama losing by, both on the low and the high end. Now that’s not 20% of democratic voters, that’s 20-25% of democrats who voted for Hillary in the primaries. And trust me, Fauxbama’s problems in PA are much much deeper than that.

The percentage of total D voters that that 20-25% of hillary voters represents only about 6% to 8% of all registered Democrats in the state, and I believe Fauxbama’s got problems with more than that percentage of D’s in PA.

Exactly.

She is a Reagan Conservative, which means grassroots.

I think that is a very reasonable assumption, along with 'Reagan' Democrats voting for McCain as well.
