RCP is an averaging technique and should be ignored....it includes the PEW poll which has the Messiah up by +15.....

The average doesn't include that poll anymore. But I see you point. Averages include polls we don't like. Actually, there isn't a poll in the average I do like.

Gallup has never been able to claim before that their polls were off because of racism. This year they can, and will.

Bears repeating. Even if Obama wins, credibility is over for RCP after this cycle. Any moron would exclude outliers like the Pew Poll, but they throw it right in.

One of the best signs that we're still in this thing is that the news media has begun citing the RCP average so much. It allows them to consistently show The One up by six or eight points and depress GOP turnout when the real race is 3 or 4 at most.

That said it looks like we are starting to relive 06....where everyone kept saying ignore the polls (special sauce, etc, etc)....and that is not how it turned out.

Or like 2004, where we said the same thing and turned out to be right. Or like 2000, when people were told to ignore polls that showed Bush significantly ahead and it turned out to be good advice.

Reality is not all the polls can be wrong....

Why not? A few weeks ago these fools were telling me that McCain was losing men by 14 points, when Dole (who lost by 9 points in the popular vote and was buried in an electoral landslide) won men by significant margins. A couple of weeks ago these people were telling us that Obama was winning West Virginia by 8 points! You really think they couldn't be wrong? In 2004 there were people telling us there was NO WAY the exit polls showing a Kerry landslide could be wrong, because they were all so scientific and getting the same results.

Sure, we need to work hard, and not even for a moment think we have this locked up, but the bottom line is these polls are a steaming pile of crap and I will stand by that even if Obama wins.

Look either the polls are bogus or they aren’t.

If the polls are accurate (including conclusions from internals like “seniors move to Obama”) this race has been over since before the bailout passed.

If they aren’t accurate, this could be anything from a slight win by either guy to a McCain landslide.

One or the other is true, but not both. Ignore the polls, because they’re either right (so why worry about the details) or they’re wrong and we need to work like dogs for four days.

Loretta Young,Yes I can see that. I have seen many of her movies on TCM. In fact there was one called THE FARMERS DAUGHTER, where she ran for congress. Sarah and Loretta ,both true Ladies.
