Billy Graham, I read somewhere, was an old-style Democrat. However, when Dubya was running for the first time, he said something like, “I’ve never endorsed a presidential candidate before, but this time it’s the closest to it.” This is because the Bushes have been family friend of Graham, and he had known Dubya for long.

Billy Graham fawned allllll over the Clintons. I remember him making excuses for the ‘charismatic’ personality when old Bill was getting his flesh pleasured in the White House. I also think given this state of MO is still considered a toss up state, and Bama dropped in to Columbia, MO., last evening for another campaign stop nobody can call this state. The state of mind of being democrat is born and bred, religion comes second.

IIRC that piece Time magazine did sometime back LBJ was Graham's best and favorite president.
