Big tent conservatives like you claim to be destroyed the party. Your moral gray area mentality is liberalism since you see no difference between the innocent and the guilty and other people pointed you to the bible passages that suggest the death penalty is acceptable. Now like I said, you just joined in October and you are in the wrong forum.
Actually, it is you who is malinformed.
Minimal biblical study - which apparently you have not done - shows that there are direct contradictions in the Biblical commentary on the death penalty.
Genesis 4:11-15 makes it clear that excommunication is the right penalty - equivalent to life in prison.
Genesis 9:6 implies that the death penalty is the correct solution.
So how do we resolve this? 1 Corinthians 5:7 tells us the way. It says to toss out the old laws when they’re contradictory and stand by the words of Jesus.
Then we have Matthew 5:38-39, where Jesus speaks: “Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.”
Jesus tells us that murder should not be met with murder. I think I’ll stick with Jesus on that one - I tend to trust Jesus more than your blasphemy.
