WASHINGTON -- In a campaign ad aired at a cost of millions, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama promised a rescue plan for the middle class in tough times Wednesday night as he reached for victory in his 21-month quest for the presidency.
"I will not be a perfect president," Obama said in the commercial. "But I can promise you this -- I will always tell you what I think and where I stand."
Aides described the unusual ad as a final summation of Obama's campaign. They put the total cost at roughly $4 million, enough to show it simultaneously on CBS, NBC and Fox. It also was running on BET, Univision, MSNBC and TV One.

Rasmussen is coming out tomorrow with McCain AHEAD on the economy.
MSNBC : Ølberman has Tank Matthews on right after the Pity Party Infomercial,
Matthews is trying to convice us Øbama is a Great Father,
Tank, convince us a Great Father would take his young children to see Reverand Wright year after year, than you may sway a vote, but probably not from Øprah.
He wants to cut Bush’s tax cuts. Huge Middle tax class cuts.
Did anyone actually watch this thing? I didn’t, I couldn’t stomach it. But I would like to know what happened during the rumored live segment at the end. Was Slick Willie there with him, as Drudge was teasing earlier?
Nobama was just preaching to the choir.
I watched a Sarah Palin rally instead.
No, I can’t hear his voice or see him without being sick.
Saw that: but that’s to be exepcted. The real question is, again:
Did BET, Univision, MSNBC and TV One run Obama’s informercial for free?
Help me out Freepers: it’s a story if not an in kind donation if they did.
“But I can promise you this — I will always tell you what I think and where I stand.” He forgot to add “And this will vary from day to day.”
I jokingly reminded my 82 year old mother to make sure she watched Obama tonight. Her reply? “gag me with a spoon!”
I went to Drudge and there’s an Obama add at the top to calculate your tax savings with the Obama tax cut. Just for grins I put in 150,000. According to the calculator I’ll get back 1,800! Can’t wait! /s/
That’s exactly how I feel.
I wouldn’t but my wife did. (She leans towards the Dems, but won’t vote for Zero)
She said it was disturbing. Apparently, he trotted out every white member of his family and dug up some in Michelle’s family as well.
So, if you watched the infomercial, I guess the inference is “Vote for me, because I’m white, you racist bitter clinger!”
Thanks Bambi, but I’m still waiting for the middle-class tax cut your buddy Bill Clinton promised us in ‘92.
Is it over?
Methinks this Obama 'buy-the-Presidency' infomercial will backfire.
Many people, especially middle moderates, don't like the idea of a haughty candidate attempting to show off his big-bucks ability to make an infomercial.
Obama, how about you won’t be President.
If he will always let us know where he stands, maybe he will eventually let us know were he stands on his birth certificate, Wright, Ayers, Rashid Khalidi, ACORN and so much more. I am still waiting for the first day of honesty!
Couldn’t watch it either.
anyone notice that the “you’ll always know where I stand” was Bush’s thing in 2004 and all the libs in the media laughed at him for it and couldnt stand it. now Obama is copying Bush. We just cant afford more of the same.
