I don’t think so. In that case, the proper address would be, “Governor and Mr. Palin invited us into their home where Governor Palin discussed policy issues while Todd talked about snowmachine racing.”

I agree that your version is more appropriate, but my point was that the ONLY context in which the use of “Mrs. Palin” would be acceptable would be in direct relation to her being Mr. Todd Palin’s wife.
