I'd recommend that you look at the Springfield Armory XD line of pistols. I purchased one this year after comparing them to Glock.
IMO, it's a better value.

I looked at the XD but my dealer gave me an excellent deal on the Smith and Wesson M&P (Mil Spec). It includes a case and three 10 round magazines.
