GOP’s Very Survival At Stake

Monday, October 27, 2008 9:18 PM

By: Christopher Ruddy

he stakes of this election are incredibly high, not just for our candidate, John McCain, but for the very existence of the Republican Party.

Am I exaggerating the potential consequences of this election?

Decide for yourself. Consider that Barack Obama has called for the amnesty of all 12 million of the nation’s illegal aliens.

If he sweeps to power with a Democratic Congress, especially a filibuster-proof Senate, he will be able to put into effect an ambitious liberal agenda — perhaps more bold than FDR’s New Deal and LBJ’s Great Society.

Obama has made his intentions clear, including on the issue of amnesty and citizenship for undocumented aliens.

This year, he told the pro-immigrant group La Raza: “Yes, they broke the law. And we should not excuse that. We should require them to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for citizenship — behind those who came here legally. But we cannot — and should not — deport 12 million people.”

He added: “That's why we need to offer those who are willing to make amends a pathway to citizenship. That way, we can reconcile our values as both a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws.”

Democrats are anxious to give citizenship as quickly as they can to these illegals. They know these new voters will cast their ballots overwhelmingly for Democratic candidates.

What exactly is his plan when they do not pay the fine, learn English, and/or go to the back of the line???

I've been saying the same thing.

President Obambi + RAT Super Majorities = consolidation of their power to the point they may never lose again.

I look for them to do the following:

Make DC a state
Perhaps make Puerto Rico a state
Restore voting rights to all felons
Naturalize all illegals and give them full voting rights
Bring a whole bunch of immigrants over (primarily from Africa) and give them full voting rights
Do away with Voter ID laws
Mandate election day registration in all states

Once the do all those things, I'm not sure how we ever win another national election

If the Democrats overreach, then the 2010 mid term elections will look a whole lot like 1994.

The only ingredient missing right now that we had in 2010 was dynamic, energetic, and visionary like Newt to make the mid terms a national referendum.

Sadly, I don’t see anyone like that on the horizon. Newt was there by getting special rules passed in the House so he could give speech after speech on C-SPAN to an empty House. That set the tone for his eventual Contract With America.

One of the biggest problems if Obama gets elected, is that he would have a teflon coating far beyond what we ever saw with Clinton. The media would never dare criticize him, even if he does something they don’t like, because they’re so afraid of being thought of as racists. Even a lot of Democrats that are now supporting him will eventually be frustrated when they learn that he’s untouchable.

They are going to have to be careful. If they go too radical then they run the risk of having the power swing back to the republicans.

All in TWO YEARS?
Remember what happen to Clinton when he ran out of the gate with gays in the military and “nationalized Hillary care, after running as a moderate/conservative Dem from the south?
His party got blown out in both houses.

Pelosi knows not to let the Republicans use CSPAN. Expect the cameras to be off whenever the House is not in full session. One minute speeches after the normal business of the House will not be broadcast.

Wow, quite the chicken-little.

And to be frank, so what?

If the GOP is not the conservative party another party will be. The Republican Party is mortal, the conservative movement is not.

In addition to supporting conservative candidates, we will need to create some sort of mass movement to oppose the Democrats’ policies. Something too large to contain or marginalize.

Two years? Try 100 days.

They didn’t have unchecked power during the Clinton Administration.

We’re talking 60 senate seats, the house, and the presidency.

In the first 100 days, they will silence talk radio with the fairness doctrine, unionize the entire country and do away with closed ballots.

Those two things alone will put the Democrats in untouchable power for two generations.

By 2010, ACORN will be so entrenched that no Republican could dream of winning any election, much less retaking power.

This election is for all the marbles, my friend.

The grassroots GOP is ALREADY reforming, it may have to go underground to gather strength but it WILL emerge into something that will scare the s*** out of RINOs and give notice to appeasers. YOU BETCHA!

Unfortunately so did President Bush which lead to the Republican trouncing of 2006.

It’s a shame when so-called patriots have so little faith in the American people. Repressive governments have never stood the test of time, and never will. A couple years in exile may do the “right pocket of kleptcracy” (GOP) some good, or something even better will fill the void.

I always avoid prognosticating what would happen when any party is in control in Washington. I know this: DC cannot become a state. Under the Constitution, it is and would remain a state unless the Constitution is amended. PR has to approve statehood and that has been rejected several times. Voting rights for felons is a state question generally. They could do it for federal offices, but not likely.

I do have faith in the American people. Plenty of it. However, the time to stand up is now, not in 2010.

I’m just describing the consequences if we don’t. I am confident that we will. Leaving the Marxists with unchecked power for 2 years will lead only to tyranny and probably to an eventual civil war.

Funny, you could replace “Obama” with “McCain” in connection with all of those amnesty quotes and it wouldn’t be far from the truth.

Well, I reckon that's true. He must be the only American politician in living history who went to Africa, and in violation of the Logan Act, campaigned for his Violent, Marxist, Muslim, Cousin, and fellow Luo tribesman, Raile Odinga. After he lost, despite a $1Million Obama contribution and the help of one Dick Morris, Odinga kicked off a wave of terror in Kikuyu regions which had gone against him in the election. It included the burning of Christian churches, the death of over 1500 people, and the displacement of many thousands more.

That's right folks. The Obamessiah, fervent Christian though he may be, speechified mightily on behalf of his cousin all over Kenya. Cousin Odinga's platform included the establishment of an Islamic state, and Sharia law.

Yet, somehow, all of this has escaped the attention of the MSM, who are busy concentrating on Sarah Palin. But, you know, one can't be too hard on them, because it also seems to have escaped the attention of John McCain and the RNC. It also seems to have escaped the attention of the Clintons, who sent Dick Morris to help out Odinga, with Obama underwriting the effort with money and that all-important, albeit illegal, personal touch of actively campaigning in a foreign country. Ancient history: 2006.

Burning Christian churches. Taking Obama's money, and burning Christian churches. Obama actively campaigning in a foreign country for his cousin who burned churches. Hello?

Quite the contrary an Obama, Pelosi, Reid one party government will alienate a large part of the US population including many Democrats who may have voted for Obama but will quickly become disillusioned by his policies. The Republican Party needs to give up its move to the middle, go back to conservative values and get some decent candidates. I expect Obama if elected will be a one term President and Congress will be purged of the Reid/Pelosi cabal in 2010.
