Why would a Honolulu newspaper have a birth announcement if he wasn’t born in Hawaii?

The announcement said the day he was born, not the place. His grandparents lived there, as did his mother. Anyone can submit a birth, death, or wedding announcement. His grandparents could have submitted the announcement.

Because his mother made sure to have his birth registered therein. Presuming, that is, that the newspaper announcement is for real; it could be hoaxage just as Bush’s national guard records were hoaxed.
