He was indicted in July. Normally, that could mean the trial could possibly push to after the election.
According to adn.com, Stevens asked for a speedy trial, specifically one that would be concluded before November 4th so it would be out of the way before the election.
ah, well he sure got his wish, didn’t he?
Did his counsel actually advise him that he was likely to get off?
