ROMNEY ANTI-PALIN

Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House, have been involved in spreading ant-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election. "Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012," says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin. "The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney. He's in charge on November 5th."

Agree completely. Totally irrational thinking in blaming Romney based on an unnamed source, but refusing to believe any of the polls. Romney has been campaigning for McCain probably more effectively than any of the ex candidates and this is the thanks he receives. I understand now why we are called the stupid party by many intelligent conservatives.

Don’t kid yourself that there’s not a cadre of disgruntled Romneybots here on FR as well.

Even that raving idiot Michael Weiner is one of them and decried the fact that Mac chose Palin over Mittwit.

She will be the ONLY person I think of for 2012.

Trust me, I'm well aware of that.

I remember very well hearing how the FACT that Romney gave money to Planned Parenthood, allowed homosexual marriage and created Romneycare didn't mean that he wasn't conservative.

Romney and his evil workers will never get a vote from me and I will work against them.

This is exactly the kind of thing that Romney seems fine with - in addition to:

1. Socialistic “Big Dig Caliber”, budget breaking health care.
2. Abortion, when it suits his ambition
3. Liberal judges he appointed to appease liberals
4. Marriott porn - as long as he received his director’s check
5. Impersonation of police officers
6. “making all the promises you have to” to win an election

Disgusting.

Mitt Romney stood beside John McCain this morning when McCain gave an outstanding speech on the economy. He gave Romney the longest introduction of any of the other 12 or so on stage with him. Mitt has been campaigning and raising money for McCain Palin throughout this whole campaign. Mitt Romney haters would do well to concentrate, as he is doing, on winning this election next Tues instead of spreading rumors from unnamed persons and unverified sources. Anti Romney people with axes to grind are not helping McCain Palin by spreading this crap.

I've had my suspicions ever since Governor Palin's selection that a Romney 5th column is at work trying to drag her down so that (in their belief) Romney can run virtually unopposed on the 2012 GOP ticket should McCain and Palin lose. Explains a LOT of the recent articles about the grumbling going on behind McCain and Palin's back, ESPECIALLY if these Romney supporters are in league with the Bush folks who've somehow gotten themselves assigned to handle Palin.

They ALL need to be chucked headfirst off the Straighttalk Express as far as I'm concerned!

Who knows who is leaking what. Romney himself seems to be a team player.

We’ll have plenty of time to evaluate the rubble if Mccain/Palin implodes and can’t figure out how to paint Obama as the marxist he is over the next few days.

Romneybots have been behind most of the attacks on Palin. They pushed info to The Atlantic about her children. Romney is saying all the right things in public but behind the scenes he has been trying to destroy Palin just as hard as Obama has.

Just look at the "conservative columnists" that have been savaging the McCain/Palin ticket... almost all are Romneybots. They are bitter that their guy wasn't chosen.

Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a "diva" and was going off message intentionally. The former and current Romney supporters further are pushing Romney supporters for key Republican jobs, including head of the Republican National Committee.

HEAD'S UP! Romney and his lackeys are trying to undermine Governor Palin so that he can run unopposed on the GOP ticket 2012. We've got to get the word out to Palin's folks NOW to nip this in the bud.

Yeah, he’s playing classic good cop/bad cop. While he’s out saying nice things about Governor Palin, his hatchetmen are working behind the scenes to bury her.

Sounds like bunk. Romney aides? Who? Name names.

I wasn't for Romney, but these articles are mostly to try to get Republicans to eat their own, IMHO.

Many of us tried to warn Romney supporters of what a flipp-flopping, lying sleaze bag Willard was. This confirms it.

When he lied about his father marching with Martin Luther King Jr. and then turned around and gave a Clintonian explanation for it, that ought to have been a clue that he is pure scum.

Let's hope Ann Coulter and El Rushbo can finally admit they were wrong for backing this RINO.

I disagree Doc...these Romney now working on the Straighttalk Express are undoubtedly doing their backstabbing with his full approval. They would not do so otherwise.

Before he switched to playing conservative for this national election, Romney and his family were always anti conservative, remember his father was a famous liberal anti war republican presidential candidate and his mother ran for the senate.

In 1994 Romney campaigned on the fact that he was anti Reagan having “registered as independent during the Reagan/Bush years” From the end of 1988 until he registered back to republican in 1993, all of his donation money went to liberal democrats in three different states.

Romney then famously ran to the LEFT of Ted Kennedy in the 1994 election and it doesn’t get much better in future years until he went into preparation for the national 2008 race, then all of a sudden Mitt Romney had a startling series of epiphanies and became conservative kinda.

Romney had many embarrassing missteps, reversals, and awkward lessons he had to learn as he adopted the new persona but by the time near the end of the primary after spending an Obama like 150 million dollars, including 45 million dollars of his own money his image had been largely reworked, unfortunately for him there is a real conservative in the public eye now and Romney’s image is once again that of a slickster chameleon.

This has the smell of Obama thuggery playing conservatives against each other. I listened and watched as Mitt endorsed Governor Palin in Minnesota. This ‘letter’ smacks of desperation psy-ops from the criminal enterprise democrap party.

Did Romney’s remarks hint at a Romney-Palin showdown in 2012?

There was also another article posted on FR just after Governor Palin's selection (but before the GOP convention) which indicated that the Romney network was going to try and take her down hard early so that McCain would have to throw her under the bus and choose Romney instead at the convention. Didn't work out that way, but those same operatives are now obviously at work trying to bury Palin so that she won't pose any threat to Romney in 2012.

That article, unfortunately, was lost in the big server problems of late August/early September, but if someone has time, maybe they can do a web search for it. The bottom line is that the Romney people have been behaving faithlessly toward the McCain/Palin campaign from the start and are trying to sabotage both it and Palin.

DING, DING, DING. This is the latest tactic by the left/media to undermine Palin. Don't believe it.
