Anyone looking for a home defense shotgun should consider the Remington 870 12 gauge Tactical Magnum with SpecOPs recoil reducing stock. This amazing weapon features an 18” barrel, 6+1 capacticy, pistol grip, and 4-stage adjustable stock. It is perfectly legal for civilians, because it is a pump action, and is not considered “assault” as it is not an automatic.
The beauty of this weapon is the recoil reducing SpecOps stock. It features two internal springs and a cam that help dissipate the recoil of even the most powerful magnum shells. I estimate that firing normal 2 3/4” 00 shells that the recoil is reduced as much as 65%, and approximately 50% when firing 3” 000 magnum shells. Due to the 18” fixed imp cyl barrel and the 4 stage adjustable stock, one can pivot easily even in the narrowest hall space. I have never been more impressed with a home defense weapon, and I cannot recommend it highly enough!
