Several gun stores in the valley have seen an increase in firearm and ammunition sales lately. News 3's Dan Ball explains why the election and the economic crisis have people pulling the trigger.
Jeffrey Bergman and his sister came to the Gun Store on Tropicana to practice their aim.
"We've had things like break-ins in the neighborhood," says Jeffrey. "We're concerned about the increase in crime in the area and protecting ourselves."
Gun Store employees like Randy Formanek say they are seeing more and more folks like Jeff come into the store.
"They see a necessity to arm themselves so that they can defend themselves," explains Randy. "You're going to see more and more people without jobs, more and more economic desperation. When people get desperate, they do stupid things, and you need to prepare yourself for the eventuality of that."
Besides self-protection, gun experts and gun users at the Gun Store say they are also concerned about what the next President may do about gun control.

When the real market in guns and ammo is disrupted, the black market will take over. There will never be a true shortage of anything. And, with so many folks being broke, there will be plenty of people needing to sell their guns.
“I think one day soon...everyone who has a ccw is going to regret it.”
They will be first in line. But anyone who bought from a ffl dealer will be in line next. The background check records and the dealer sales records will let the govt know who has what.
Nah, I have a CCW and use it. I carry a KelTec PF9 daily. If the sheriff wants my "CCW", he will get the Revlon .22 revolver in the bottom drawer. No problem.
Where I live, the deputies will NOT allow gun confiscation. They are a para military force in onto themselves and I'm a simple citizen and part of them!

There are millions and millions of registered gun owners. And only a few LEO's to be foolish enough to take the job of trying to collect their weapons.
“Im stocking up next week. “
The local dealers are all out of .45 personal defense ammo. A lot of the national sales dealers are low or totally out of some popular calibers.

And because of the uncertainty prices are already going up. Wish I'd bought awhile back. In fact, I wish I had a gun. I don't, you know. Never have. In fact, nobody I know has a gun. Officer.
1. Buy a gun or three or four.
2. buy more ammo than you think you need.
3. Get a CCW.
4. Join the NRA.
5. Learn to reload.
6. Get trained by professionals.
7. Practice more than you have time for.
8. Surround yourself with friends who do the same.
LOL!
The word on the street is holding true......Even weapons are drying up. I hope I’m not to late.
Locked and loaded; ready to defend myself and what is hard earned and mine!
Although I live in a rural county here in NC ...
Step on my property with malicious intent and you will pay the price. Heed the “No Trespassing” sign, note there is a reason for the fencing around the yard and beware the dog. This redneck chick ain’t playing!
Hmmm, I sold mine in the newspaper. Perfectly legal in the good old state of Alabama!
LOL, I love NC. My sis lives right off the Blue Ridge and it is gorgeous. :^)
I suggest you take a class to learn how to use it effectively.

You’re living in fantasy land. Read a book called The Great New Orleans Gun Grab.
On Friday I was going to get on the 10 day wait for a California legal M1A but decided to wait until election day and see what happens.
I have one of those and I LOVE it!
I can knock down 20 out of 25 clay pigeons all day long!
You can't go wrong with that gun!
You’re funny. ;o)
