She has a knack for making the media look really, really small and unimportant.

Barack Obama and I have both spent time on the basketball court, but where I come from, you have to win the game before you cut down the nets!

She does, doesn't she? I loved her comments about her accessories. The story about her wedding ring and earrings was great. The earrings story highlighted her native American association, and the wedding ring story highlighted that she's not driven by money and objects.

The media fear Governor Palin.
The level and constancy of “journalistic” attack reflect that fear.
Unlike the shameful coverage, editorials etc., regarding President Bush, the coverage of Palin includes betrayals by Noonan and Parker, for markedly different reasons.
I never trusted Peggy. Too uppity, urbane, and self-absorbed.
I thought Kathleen Parker was a rising columnist with appeal to conservative and moderate voters. She could write well.
IOW, Peggy’s defection is not surprising and I’m not interested in the “why.”
But, Parker’s poison pen is abrupt. It looks to me like rank jealousy. I can understand why she is jealous, even envious, of John McCain’s running mate.
