I think if we win this, Vice President Palin should actually exercise the role of presiding over the Senate, at least during times when important matters are being debated and voted on, and she should use the chair fairly ruthlessly, just to gall folks like Chrissy.

Let’s look up “preside” in Johnson’s Dictionary, the standard when the Constitution was written. Preside: “To be set over; to have authority over.” President: “One placed with authority over others; one at the head of others. Governour; prefect. A tutelary power.” Is it not interesting that the same word is used for both the president of the United States and the president of the Senate?
