The big news of the 2008 election is the GOP moderates, the RINOs have jumped ship and fled to Obama. So much for the Big Tent Republican Party. At the end of the day, its not about the party, its about power and the Washington social party circuit for them. What's ironic is these are the same people who pushed John McCain on the Republican Party, telling the base only he could bring moderates and independents into the party. And what are they doing? Just the opposite - they are abandoning the Republican Party in droves. That's what happens when you have people in the Party whose only interest is their personal ambition, not principle. Conservatism doesn't need to be "moderated" or updated. A timeless set of beliefs will never go out of style. So after the election, the Party has to be rebuilt from the ground up. And one of the things conservatives must do is keep liberals and moderates out of the party. When all is said and done, they don't have our best interests at heart.

The more of the SOBs that run for the door and vote for Obama is fine by me. We have identified the losers. Get the damned RINOs out of the Conservative party. Conservatives made this stinking party what it was, RINOs, moderates, liberals have destroyed it. Seems like these RINOs were liberal dimocrat plants, put here purposely to destroy the party from within. Colin Powell immediately comes to mind.

In my opinion the reason most of these jerks abandoned ship is that they do not want to see Palin in the WH, either now or in 2012, especially then because she will be running for President. They are crapping their pants over Palin because she is bringing conservatism back to the Republican party and they don't want that. Their whole life, Colin and the other "moderate" republicans(certainly not conservatives), has been to make one party out of republicans and democrats, to have the same goal in the long run. We have seen it and more than one FReeper has said it, that both parties are starting to look more and more the same.

Good riddance to the moderates, I hope they all leave.

They are going to be sucking air on Nov 5 because McCain/Palin are going to win.

I think i'm in love! (and a lot of other male freepers too)

"I would love to promote the party ideals if we're going to live out the ideals, and allow other American voters to understand what the principles of our party are. We've gotta be assured we have enough people in the party who will live out those ideals as not just rhetoric, otherwise I'd be wasting my time. There are a lot of other things I would and should be doing."

Alas, all this shows just how dumb are Republican primary voters nationwide!

The minute you say that conservatism includes people who are pro-choice, you've destroyed conservatism because conservatism stands for "life, liberty, pursuit of happiness." Without life, there is nothing else here, and if we're going to sit around indiscriminately deciding who lives and who dies based on our own convenience, that's not conservative. Individual liberty. The essence of innocence is a child in the womb who has no choice over what happens to it. Sorry. If we don't stand up for that person, if the government doesn't, then nobody will. And if we allow ourselves to get watered down by a bunch of people who are embarrassed over that position, they're not conservatives.

They [moderates] have proven they haven't a clue how to win an election. They have proven that they have not a clue that they understand the American electorate. They have proven they have not a clue what it is that inspires people to support their party and go to the poll and support them.

Rush is, as always, 1200% correct.

Good to see that Rush is slowly but steadily becoming a real conservative. His brother David must be coaching him. :-)
