Obama did the same thing when he made up the story that a McCain supporter said “kill him” at a rally. Two nuts. Unfortunately, one is running for president.
I think it's time for Sarah Palin and John McCain to explicitly retract some of their more inflammatory rhetoric and assure their supporters that an Obama victory does not portend the destruction of the United States.
It's one thing to speak strongly against your opponents policies. To try and scare people about the opposition with lies and insinuations is both dishonorable and, evidently, dangerous.
Only the candidates themselves have the sway to calm some of the more radical elements of their support. Let's hope they do this before anymore incidents like this occur.
