There really isn’t much an emergency room could do for a superficial scratch like that, other than dab on Povidone (which I would do for myself) and ask if Tetanus booster was up to date.

I'm not sure if that is simply a casual statement of fact or if it was intended as a possible reason why she didn't seek medical treatment.

If the former, I agree with you completely.  If the latter, the girl I saw in the press doesn't look qualified to make ER triage decisions.  If someone knocked me down, stole my money and cut on my face, the very first place I would go is an ER. Well, I may stop for a beer first but it would be no lower than second on my list. :-)
