A real team player is Tom.

And I couldn't think of a more boring, unexciting and uninspiring pick for VP, not to mention the resurrected videos of the dumb pressers given by the first director of DHS.

Duct tape and plastic wrap, anyone?

Well, I’d have to see how he looks in high heels first.

I agree.

We need Sarah and what she stands for in life.

Today she has the mantle on her shoulders for many voters. Pray she is strong and” protected from the fiery darts of the evil one.” This is my covering prayer for her. Dear God ... protect Sarah according to your word ...

Ephesians 6:16- 20

“16 withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

19 And on my behalf, that utterance may be given unto me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,

20 for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

May she be an ambassador for You. Amen

Yeah it sure would be different Tom! The Republican base would stay home with a pro-abortion VP pick.

Palin has energized the conservative Republican base like no other candidate. McCain was left for political road kill if he would have not picked Palin.

Grow up.

LOL - The RINO’s are running from Sarah as fast as they can.
Don't worry Tom, If there's an Obama administration they'll let you forage for table scraps.

Winning just Pa. ain’t going to get you into the White House...except maybe on a tour. Somebody needs to get over themselfses and concentrate on the job at hand.

I wouldn't have been inclined to vote for him especially not the way I am more than excited to vote for Palin.

Ridge must think more of himself than many voters. He sounds like a Christine Todd Whitman with that whine.

And this is why Powell endorsed the chosen one. He’s upset that he didn’t get selected VEEP. See what a bunch of rinos we have? I hope the true base of this party wakes up and kicks all these liberals out.

Let me tell you this, the ONLY time I sent contributed to this campaign was the night Sarah palin was introduced as the running mate. I went online DURINGT her acceptance speech and did my part because I was electrified by her.

I respect Senator McCain's service a great deal. I'm a member of the military and I think he'll make a great CINC, but moderate Republicans (the Tom Ridges, Colin Powells, and William Welds of the world) are the real problem. In a way I'm glad we're having this debate and even if McCain/Palin ticket wins, Conservatives will have to take the party over.

“More and more I think there needs to be a serious purge of the GOP.”

Yep. Self centered morons. The day any of these guys fill a stadium with 10’s of thousands and put millions of asses in front of the television they can get back to me.

“Duct tape and plastic wrap, anyone?”

A well known comedian said it well.

The only way that duct tape and plastic wrap would protect you from a nuclear or biological attack, would be that if you wrapped yourself in it, you would suffocate before the weapons could kill you.

The media is busy getting quotes out of republicans and using them to hurt the McCain campaign. But the republicans like Ridge bear a responsibility not to give teh reporters what they want, no matter how “honest” they are trying to be.

If Tom Ridge made that comment, it only underscores what many of us have thought about him. Clearly, he wasn’t the right person for the VP slot. Ridge’s pro-choice views would have alienated a good part of the base.

The base is enthusiastic about Governor Sarah Palin, and I submit that we would not have come this far without her on the ticket. A McCain/Ridge ticket would have been a moderate’s delight, but it wouldn’t have had a chance to be as competitive as a ticket the unified the entire base.

Ridge is just expressing a lot of sour grapes, and this childish candor only makes him look foolish.

He was my governor and people were mad that he left the governorship.

He was my governor too and I wasn't one of those people. ;)

Good grief...when did the Republican Party turn into the party of self-promoting opportunists? Noonan, Parker, Ridge, Frost, Buckley, Powell...anything for their “hey, look at me—remember me? I’m important too” moment.

Sheesh.

Tom, no offense, you’re a good guy and all...but if you think you’d be drawing crowds like Sarah Palin, you’re high.
