Doesn't the police report say Right cheek? That means the photo being circulated may have been her photo she took by pointing the camera at a mirror.
Makes as much sense as any of the other supposition going on...

No, her right cheek would be on the left side of the photo. In anatomy, left and right are from the patient’s perspective. The “B” is backwards.
