Contrarian that I am, I'm voting for John McCain. I'm not talking about bucking the polls or the media consensus that it's over before it's over. I'm talking about bucking the rush of wet-fingered conservatives leaping to Barack Obama before they're left out in the cold without a single state dinner for the next four years.
I stand athwart the rush of conservative ship-jumpers of every stripe -- neo (Ken Adelman), moderate (Colin Powell), genetic/ironic (Christopher Buckley) and socialist/atheist (Christopher Hitchens) -- yelling "Stop!" I shall have no part of this motley crew. I will go down with the McCain ship. I'd rather lose an election than lose my bearings.

Smart man.

One of the best. A port of sanity in a stormy sea of Keystone Cop liberalism.
I generally like Krauthammer, but how do you reconcile this column with what he said on Special Report with Brit Hume last night?

Beat me to it. It's disturbing to see a panel made up of Barnes, Liason and Krauthammer, and Liason is apparently the most Conservative of the three....'course Barnes has been and always will be a Country-clubber. Krauthammer has been saying a lot of things lately that make me wonder.....
I love you Charles!! This is another reason you’re my favorite commentator. I wish you well!
I will have a hard time reconciling his opinion now with his performance after the last debate but he does make a good point. The movement is infested with cockroach cocktail circuit “conservatives” that are more interested in being accepted inside the Beltway than in standing up for conservative principles. One way to purge these cretins from the movement is with your money. Be careful how and with whom you spend your money.
With Charlie, one has to wonder - is he laying the foundation for an “I-voted-for-McCain-before-I-voted-against-him” moment?
