Barak Obama: "I'm not interested in the suburbs. The suburbs bore me. And I'm not interested in isolating myself," Obama said in a recent (04/17/1990) interview...
Found this on www.newspaperarchive.com (membership required)
His arrogance and condescension (to say nothing of self-promotion) knows no bounds...
This is a newspapaer quote -- actually appeared in numerous newspapers (it was a pick-up of an AP Wire Story)...
His arrogance is breathtaking...
FREEPER ADVICE REQUEST -- Any point in trying to get friendly media to pick-up this quote? I know it is old -- but it really underscores the arrogance of this man and it is consistent with his "bitterness" quotes... also, it ran in both Ohio and Pennsylvania Newspapers -- maybe it would get some local coverage in these battleground states?

"Professors may treat black students differently, sometimes by being, sort of, more dismissive, sometimes by being more, sort of, careful because they think, you know, they think that somehow we can't cope in the classroom," he said.
It's the exact same way right now with the media.

"I'm interested in organizations, not movements, because movements dissipate and organizations don't," Obama said.
Which organization do you suppose he's talking about here?

Good find. I’d email a copy to all the conservative internet sites and radio that you can identify. The ‘Suburbs bore me’ needs to be circulated.

At a recent meeting in a Harvard cafeteria, his affinity with the underdog was readily apparent. "I lived in a country where I saw extreme poverty at a very early age," Obama said. "Parts of my family in Kenya remain very poor. My grandmother still lives in a mud-walled house with no running water or electricity.
"That's who I am, that's where I come from, not always literally, but at least emotionally."
She STILL lives in a mud-walled house with no running water or electricity. What the heck good has his "affinity with the underdog" done? How can he lecture a plumber about spreading his wealth around, when his campaign has raised nearly a billion dollars and his grandmother STILL lives in squalor?
Both of his grandmothers are still alive, yet none of them were at the convention?

I’d like to see the piece he wrote to win the contest.

“Parts of my family in Kenya remain very poor. My grandmother still lives in a mud-walled house with no running water or electricity.”
And they still do.
Mr Obama the Millionaire Senator.
Who lectures us about the “least among us” yet allows his own blood to suffer.

I thought that Punahou school was an expensive private prep school. Here he says he was in public high school.

The Weather Underground? ACORN? The New Party...
I think the article is interesting largely because it reveals a bit of the man behind the (recently better) polished mask... he literally compares himself to Michael Jordan and Bill Cosby?
It must take huge amounts of self-discipline to keep his secret-self better hidden nowadays...
What a narcissistic nutcase this guy is... (and has been for a LONG time)

Concern for Obama's education led his mother to return him to Hawaii, where he attended public schools through high school.Actually he went to Punahou which is not a public school, am I right?

And today Obama explained his absence from the campaign by saying that some things trump politics, and taking care of family is paramount.
——Unless it’s taking care of your brother George Obama in Kenya.

right — this article is full of interesting inaccuracies (i suspect that Obama himself was the source of these errors) — Punahoe is an expensive and fancy private school...
By far the best school in Hawaii and very good (and elitist)even by mainland standards.

I guess I’ll have to disagree. This seems like a fawning article that paints him in a pretty favorable light.

"Professors may treat black students differently, sometimes by being, sort of, more dismissive, sometimes by being more, sort of, careful because they think, you know, they think that somehow we can't cope in the classroom," he said. Substitute "The media" for "Professors" and "the election" for "the classrom."
