Ayers was not simply protesting “against” the Vietnam War.

Firstly, he wasn’t against war in principle, he was agitating for the victory of the communist forces in Vietnam.

They can never condemn Ayers, because he was one of them.

I was away, in the place and war that was protested during the time, and never realized what was happening at home. After 2 yrs and 10 months, homecoming was a long awaited relief, an lucky opportunity.....and an unpleasant surprise on occasion. That's history.

We heard about Kent State on AFVN radio, heard about protests once in a while in the Stars and Stripes but the characters in the Weathermen, the Chicago Eight and the Schofield Seven were not known personalities. Nor was John Kerry and his associations with the VVAW and Jane Fonda, Tom Hayden snd the rest of their ilk till later. (Kerry; we'd heard of up in I Corps but not by name.....it was scuttlebutt.)

Later when I was in school, the rage was over Ellesberg and Nixon. The Pentagon Papers and freedom of the press and purloining state's secret policies that were actually President Johnson's, protected by Nixon. It was 'Alice; Through the Looking Glass' for returning vets.

Then we went to school to better our options. Then we were once again schooled.

He was agitating for the defeat of America and later the mass killing of at least 25 million of us.

I and probably my family would have been one of those 25 million.

Yet liberals and idiot conservatives with no sense of history have no problem Ayers and Obama’s long time connection with Ayers and maybe worse.
