Lame-duck Republican President Bush's dismal poll ratings have descended to those of Harry Truman's when he left office. The Democratic majority in Congress will probably widen after the election. Republican nominee John McCain has not run a dynamic campaign. Gen. Colin Powell, George Bush's former secretary of state, has now enthusiastically endorsed Barack Obama.
The country is in two unpopular wars -- amid the worst financial panic of the last 80 years. Not since prophet of change and newcomer Jimmy Carter ran against Gerald Ford (post Watergate and the lost Vietnam war) have voters been so eager for a shake-up.
Why then is the charismatic Barack Obama not quite yet a shoo-in?
Easy. Voters apparently still don't know who Obama is, or what he wants to do -- and so are still not altogether sure that Obama is the proper antidote to George Bush. After more than a year of campaigning, he still remains an enigma.

“Ive already voted. Simplest decision in my life!”
“Viva McCain/Palin!!!”
My wife and I will be doing the same tomorrow with our absentee ballots.
He is the most leftist candidate we have had in a hundred years.
Also, he the poster boy for NPD/Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
I have two plumber’s helpers/plungers in the back window of of my pickup.
There are nothing but thousands of stupid people out there, many pseudo intellectuals, none with common sense whatsoever.
Thank God for Hanson and others just like him.
we have a lot to thank God for ...
it is only by the Grace of God that we haven’t been attacked again since 9/11...
I am praying daily that McCain will be elected and that he will be the POTUS that we need...he certainly needs to change his position on GITMO, ANWR, illegals and we need a president who will balance the budget, pay down the debt, quit with the “bailouts” just to name a few issues...
And we all know that it is not “if” but “when” there is another muzzie terrorist attack that we start “cleaning house” and deporting the foreign muzzies and it is not a matter of “if” but “when” the Israelis attack Iran’s nuclear facilities that we need to start drilling more offshore AND onshore, building more refineries, more nuclear power plants so we can become energy independent!

I love your slogan.
When Dan Quayle was chosen for Bush 41’s veep, he had been a senator for 8 years. The media bashed him for his unpreparedness. Obama - 143 days in the Senate - no problemo for the dncmedia.
That’s my impression too. Think of Africa and its corrupt leaders, leaders that were schooled in the west but that wage racial genocide at home, leaders that are tribal and have school children sing about them, leaders that have kept Africa impoverished regardless of how much money we throw at them, leaders that are charismatic and have the cult of personality followers worship them and do their bidding. Obama already has ties to a leader in Kenya who is corrupt and is waging war after losing an election. He’ll be the America version of the very same thing. Truth Squads, Acorn, credit card finance fraud and off shore election financing are just the beginning stages of the corruption.
I thought this was Gore's new plan to stop global warming. I heard it was Obama's idea.
Obama is so far left he pulls the center off the page.
This race is close because we are ineffective communicators, period. If you draw a very real picture of the differences between the two candidates and the message gets out there beyond the MSMedia tentacles, McCain and real Conservatives win handily every time. Problem is, we’ve ignored the cultural part of this. We need more Conservative artists, musicians, actors as well to attack on the youth front.
