AP presidential poll: McCain gains, drawing even with Obama with two weeks until Election Day

WASHINGTON - The presidential race tightened after the final debate, with John McCain gaining among whites and people earning less than $50,000

The poll, which found Obama at 44 percent and McCain at 43 percent, supports what some Republicans and Democrats privately have said in recent days: that the race narrowed after the third debate as GOP-leaning voters drifted home to their party and McCain's "Joe the plumber" analogy struck a chord.

1. Palin’s power (conservative & probably evangelicals who may come out more heavily for McCain thanks to Sarah).

2. Hillary voters and PUMA’s which are somewhat the same thing. A lot of Hill voters hate Obama.

3. Obama's best demographic is people under age 29, which he leads 65-35. On election day, 2/3 of these people will be either high, drunk, still in bed, or watching "The Cartoon Network."

Folks if the polls suddenly start to get closer in the next few days do not be surprised. The polls may have been skewed towards the Democrats in recent weeks. But no pollster wants to be wrong on election day. A lot of these polling companies make most of there money doing polling for businesses not politicians. As a result they do not want to known as the pollster that called the election for the wrong candidate. It is bad for business.

“electoralvote.com has had Obama at over 300 electoral votes for ages.
http://www.electoral-vote.com/
Peruse his/her website and while you snack.”

Nate Silver is an Obamailure and has drank the Koolaid along with just about everyone else in this country. The MSM and the bloggers are distorting the facts to suppress our turnout. Lets show them we will not be suppressed!

Yes, the pollsters have to be close to the election results in order to maintain any credibility. With less than two weeks out expect most polls to come into balance of what's really going on. Look for the “special sauce” that is used to mysteriously change from (D)+8/9% oversampling to (D)+3/4% etc.

Then if a 527 is going to hit “The 0” then it's lights out if we all show up on Nov 4th!

I think the pollsters believe that if they say the dems are winning it will help keep Republicans at home. Good thing they dont know it really energizes the base to turn out in droves.

The new factor to consider, of course, is early voting, which I'm sure the MSM and its pollsters are well aware of.

There are sheep going to the polls right now, hoping to be on the side of the winner.

Yeah, most models have this agre group accounting for about 25% of their turnout model. In 2004 exit polling they comprised 14% of the electorate. If their turnout models turn out wrong by a large amount I suspect McCain will win and the riots will ensue.

Amen! Me and husband will be voting here in a blue state.
Kids have the day off-it’s a school holiday in NM- and will be going to polls with us.
Gonna play “spot the whacked out moonbat” (quietly, of course) while waiting in line.
