Are you getting snow, or freezing rain?
To: fanfan
"Are you getting snow, or freezing rain?" Neither, at the moment. The temp is in the low forties here, so we're getting rain, but it's the wet kind.

That would be just above five percent of the range of temperatures between the freezing and boiling of water, in that curiously logical method you use.

Have you recovered from the turkey supper yet?
To: fanfan
I know it’s like iocaine poison to some, but I’ve built up an immunity. Even a double dose didn’t faze me.

I was raised on Fahrenheit, Celsius was introduced when I was in grade 9.
You might say I am Bi-temperatural.
To: fanfan
Bi-temperamental, hunh?
You’ll like my books. I’ve always thought the Fahrenheit scale was nuttier than our calendar.
Tradition, schmadition. To Perdition with both.

I said Bi-temperatural.
;-)
But some parts of the Metric system make sense.
Most of it, actually.
It’s just hard to adjust to a new system.
To: fanfan
Oh, all of the Metric System makes sense. I have no complaint with it.
The U.S. was first in the world, I think, with a decimal currency system. Why do we have to be last with measurement?
My wife said she didn’t want to change. I said, “What system are you using now?”
She has no familiarization at all with the English System of measurement; no idea how many feet in a mile, or inches in a foot, or ounces in a pound.
But she doesn’t want to change.

Thats what shes afraid of.....not knowing the relative value of things.
