He is an American citizen via his mother’s citizenhip unless he gave it up at 21 or did something to repudiate it. He should have been born a dual citizen. I have no clue as to how the adoption by this step father comes into play. But really the only issue is was he born in the United States and I would think there is some certificate somewhere with the foot prints and the finger prints and all floating around in Hawaii or. . . . Kenya.
That is not the law in effect at the time he was born.
There are issues surrounding his adoption by Soetero. For one if he was adopted and given Soetoro’s name why is he not using his Soetero his legal name. If his mother was younger that would be a problem. If he was adopted the original birth certifiate is most likely sealed. I don’t think he has his birth certificate. Being a lawyer I would have thought he would have gotten it by now. Something makes me think Obama thinks he I smarter than everybody else.
