Living in western Pa, I don’t have a problem with being called a redneck. Heck, they’re a lot of us out here. However, by saying redneck I believe that Murtha is just using that as a code word for another way of calling us racists. That I won’t stand for! Just because we don’t believe in the messiah’s redistribution of the wealth scheme doesn’t mean we’re racists.
I wonder if ole’ Murtha felt this way in 2006 when Lynn Swann was running for governor against fast Eddie Rendell. I never heard a peep out of him concerning racism at that time.
Murtha is old, stupid and liberal enough to believe that white-guilt appeals and name calling gets people to always do what you want. In his mind, this tactic will work as people think ‘I’m not racist, see - I voted for the black guy. Can I still be in your club?”
When I was about 22, that kind of crap is exactly why I woke up one day and realized I didn’t believe any of this crap and was just agreeing because I thought I had to. Now I just don’t care if liberals call me names. In fact, I usually take it as a sign that I’m winning the argument.
