Palin: Obama experimenting with 'socialism' (Palin still calling it like it is)

ROSWELL, New Mexico (CNN) — Sarah Palin on Sunday levied some of her toughest attacks to date against Barack Obama, accusing him of experimenting with socialism and charging ACORN, the embattled community organizing group to which Obama has been linked, with attempting to undermine the sacrifices of United States troops abroad.

Palin has made indirect references to socialism in recent days while attacking Obama’s tax plan, usually in the context of Joe “the plumber” Wurzelbacher’s remark that Obama’s tax plan sounds “socialist.”

On Sunday, she went a step further.

“Barack Obama calls it spreading the wealth,” she said. “Joe Biden calls higher taxes patriotic. But Joe the plumber and Ed the dairy man, I believe that they think that it sounds more like socialism. Friends, now is no time to experiment with socialism.”

Yup. Fascism is just a form of socialism, as was Leninism. As our friend Jonah Goldberg so well explained in his latest book, Communism and Fascism are side by side in the political spectrum, not at opposite ends.

Well, we don’t get it in any way that is easy that I can foresee. Had Bush I and Bush II been conservative, where we would be right now might be completely different places. But instead, they saw fit to kill conservatism, and crushed free market capitalism in the process.

I never realized what was going on until I started spending a lot of time in DC.

People outside of here have no idea what is going on.

Fat city for the politicians and all of the people who work for the government and their contractors.

Booming recession proof economy at all times in DC, the media is in on it too.

GOP congressmen may be conservative when they get here, but after a year or two all they care about is staying and collecting an enormous pension and perks.

They are already spreading our wealth around quite nicely.

The Bushes are creatures of the bureaucracy and never lifted a finger to cut spending.

They looked out for the apparatchiks and hung the conservative movement out to dry.

Believe me, I know. I worked in the Senate and House in the 80s, under Reagan. Republicans at first were scared to oppose Reagan, and then, by the mid 80s or so, as the conservative movement lost some steam, they were actually happy not to have to do what he wanted anymore. They were as big a problem as Tip O'Neill. They liked the way things ran in DC, and the crumbs the Dems gave them.

That's why what Newt did was so great. Like Reagan saying he wanted to defeat the Soviets, not live with them, Newt said he wanted to be in the majority. Everyone laughed, but he did it, with some help from Reagan's legacy and Clinton's over reaching. It could have been a lasting base for several generations of conservative rule, if they had stayed principled.

Bush II (compassionate conservatism?...No child....New Tone?)and some old-style RINO GOP leaders killed off those hopes, and gave us Nancy Pelosi and now, perhaps, Lord Obama. Heaven help us indeed.

Obama can’t know that much about taxation - he refuses to disclose the contributors of the millions he is taking in - will he ignore his taxation obligation too? I wonder how many tax reports he has honestly and accurately submitted in his own name since he became a wage earner.

No doubt the ‘ghost monies’ will never be accounted for.

He seems to have rules for all of us but exempts himself from them.
