Once a majority of citizens in a democracy decide that a group should be taxed more heavily after they reach a certain arbitrary level of income or wealth, it's over.

I believe it was Franklin who originally stated this... and oh how true it is. Ignorance fuels this... envy... and a misplaced, deep inner hate. The socialist indoctrination is now complete... and the stooges they pump out of our public schools can recite it backwards. They have oodles of unearned self-esteem... but can't make change without a calculator.

I know this is not an original thought, but it makes sense.

I was kind of hoping somebody would argue with me, you guys are just as gloomy. A huge proportion of people pay no income taxes at all, and they like it that way. I really think the tipping point either has been reached or is in site.

That said, if BHO is elected, I believe it will presage the death of the republic as we know it. The constitution is in tatters as it is, his election will basically relegate the constitution to an historical curiosity.

This all started with the amendments that allowed the popular election of senators and the collection of an income tax. It has been downhill from there and we are getting to the bottom.

That said, I still can't see BHO winning. It has nothing to do with his skin color. The number of whites who will vote for him out of guilt far exceeds the number who will vote against him because he is black. I just can't see a man with his thin resume, his obvious marxist/socialist tendencies, and his arab/moslem background getting elected president.

If McCain wins, it will only delay the inevitable. We need a Regan (Sarah?) to actually turn things around.
