“Too bad our so called elites continue to aid our enemies.”

I’ll probably post at length about this once the election is over. But the reaction of the East Coast elites of both parties to Sarah Palin has been stunning.

For example, listen to the interview between Laura Ingraham and Heather McDonald.

http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=YTkwOGYyNjNhMmUwM2FlZTZkOTJmYzNkY2I2MDFmNmY=

Heather all but comes out and says what I’ve suspected has been at the root of this (and Laura comes awfully close to agreeing).

The subtext of the elites’ opposition to Palin is this:

“’Normal’ people are fine, as long as they know their place. We have no problem with them fixing our cars, fighting our fires, protecting our country, bagging our groceries, or cutting our hair. But, it’s unthinkable that any of them should ever dare to attempt to lead US. That stuff we spew about ‘the genuius of everyday American people’, the stuff Reagan used to speak about? We don’t really believe that crap. WE are the only natural leaders of this country.”

Ever since Palin entered the scene, I’ve gotten the same feeling I did watching the scene in Titanic when Jack is invited to dine with the tycoons. Although some were politely amused with him, there was an assumption by all that Jack did NOT belong at that table.

As a certified ‘normal’ person, this has been an eye opener for me. I’ve been amazed at the people who have outright said to me and the millions like me: you have no place at this table. Go away till we need to use you as a political prop.

This is why I am a broken glass Palin supporter (and will be in 2012, should Obama win). I will also embark on a crusade after the election to purge these elitists from the Republican party.

IMHO, not much difference between Laura Ingraham and Maureen Dowd.

Bitter old maids.

Go ahead and flame away, but that’s the way I see it.
