alas, there is no provision for editing typos. mea culpa.

but i bet it will be worse than 1976. in some ways quite similar. Ford was a good decent honest man, but the GOP brand was tarnished. At least I hope it is more like 76 than 1932, or this country will really be in trouble.

Ford came pretty close to winning, though. I believe Jimmuh had a huge lead in the polls for most of the campaign, and then Ford made up a lot of ground at the end.

Although that “Ford to City: Drop Dead” headline just may rank as the biggest killer ever.

I think 76 proves it isn’t over until it’s over.

And the base has to be motivated to turn out. At a minimum, the Reps need to be able to filibuster in the Senate.
