Was there a knockout punch in any modern debate? I think it is really very hard to impossible to have the so called knock out punch in a debate.

Yes! When Dan Quayl(e) was reminded that “you’re no Jack Kennedy,” by Bensten. Surely you remember that one. Bensten won the debate, but Dan won the Vice Presidency!!!
