McCain was awesome, and the media is either trashing him to pave the way for Obama. If they would do their job, McCain wouldn’t have to be so “fiesty” as they say.

Thanks!
All I saw of Obama was that he can “smile when he is mad”...like when your mama tells you it’s gonna sting when the bactine goes on a cut....you ain’t gonna cry....but it sure did hurt.
Yep, McCain won tonight and I think Joe the plumber exposed a serious flaw for the American public.
McCain winner!
Joe the plumber a winner!
Senator “Government”?

If the undecided and swing voters generally don’t watch these debates, then how will they form an opinion? Mainstream media would be my guess. And guess what? The MSM are all lined up on knee pads and with plenty of lube for the Obama campaign. This is just sickening.
What a crock! We are effed IMHO.
It's no wonder the poor guy is left twitching and smirking when what he really wants to do is strangle Obama.
Obamas cool-cat demeanour exudes power. The only way McSame couldve changed things tonight was if he managed to rattle Obamas nerves. He failed, And the country is better for it.
No way dude! McCain didn’t dwell incessantly on ACORN and William Ayers and he didn’t jump up, point a finger in Obama’s face, and scream that he’s a filthy Moooooslim terrorist, so that means he totally flubbed the debate and lost big time!

Solid analysis and I agree with most of your points.
Will McCain gain 3 points in the polls? I say no., even if he really does. The media (including Fox) has been terrible in reporting this election.
Sometime I think McCain is really ahead. Sometimes I fear he is really down. Truth is, no one excpet the campiagns fully know the state of the race. The media has not reported it at all accurately.
“Obama is on defense though the night, stuttering much more than previous, notice?”
I noticed, I was listening to the debate on the radio before watching and one of the first things I noticed was Obama sort of stuttering more than usual. It almost sounded like his regular interviews and he does it usually when he gets nervous or has to be impromptu on tougher questions. And that debate was a great time for him to get nervous as all of the radicalisms he associated with came back.
Agreed. I thought McCain did extremely well, and Obama was repeatedly shown to be a smooth-talking liar.
One of the best moments was when McCain talked about all of Obama’s negative ads, and pointed out that Obama lied and broke his word when he refused to accept public funding after promising him that he would. Obama never responded to that. Also, that Obama was rolling in dough, and spent more money than any campaign since Watergate.
He was unprepared for Obama’s lie about his vote on the Infants born alive protection act. He should have nailed him as the worst abortionist in the Senate, and the most extreme leftist. But I was glad to see the abortion issue brought out, since Obama has been dodging it for months. If people knew where he stood, it would be a big loser for him.
The one thing that got me out of the seat was when he finally said the dems have controlled the congress for the last two years. You could see the disdain on Obama’s face when that one hit.
Did anyone else notice Obama sipping water (bad sign) and looking at the moderator, basically IMPLORING HIM to cut McCain off?
I agree. What debate were they watching? The media is out of control! Look, I’m biased and am voting for McCain. He won this debate hands down. The previous two debates he was terrible. What’s going on?
Thanks for posting your analysis. I saw, and bring from the debate the very same impressions you got.
McCain CLEARLY won this debate. As soon as it was over, the panel on FNC was essentially telling me I was wrong, and the Luntz focus group just piled on.
The fact is, I know what I saw. Though I have a desire to see a certain outcome, I view these things without bias as to who I think does better. Tonight McCain won. I just wish tonight’s version of McCain would have showed up for the other two debates. I thought McCain looked awful in the last debate, and didn’t win the first because the financial “crisis” diluted the foreign policy matters that night.
Whomever would have thought McCain’s best debate would have been the one on domestic policy....
BUMP
McCain missed a chance to nail him on judges. Obama said he would have no litmus test but then went on to say judges should decide cases on feeling rather than constitutionality. There are lots of examples of judges undermining the will of the people for less than constitutional reasons.
wishful thinking.
yes, mccain did a good job, but it was not the right job. the entire message is wrong. if people want change, they are going to vote for obama. he’s radical change, but with their home values and retirement in the toilet, that’s the kind of change people think we need.
if mccain campaign was clever, he would have attacked obama up front on the issues that matter most. he would have said that obama’s position on trade is exactly what sent the US into the last great depression - that’s not change we need. he have said that obama’s tax position is exactly what led to the malaise of the 1970’s - again change we don’t need. he would have said that obama wants to take your guns away - farther left than hillary clinton.
unless mccain explains in soundbites why obama will be a disaster, he can’t win because people don’t trust the GOP any more.
but instead mccain lamely went after obama on ayers, on health care (not a winning issue for GOP) on school vouchers....
it’s pretty depressing to see this shaping up as the worst election for the GOP since 1972.
I didn’t watch it, but it sounds like he nailed it hard. I’m glad to see McCain tarred O with Acorn and Ayers.
Acorn and Ayers are sticking.
