This is all starting to make sense. I.F. Stone was employed by Ingersoll publishing. This is the same publishing firm that David Axelrod’s mother (Myril Axelrod) used to work for — She was left-wing writer for PM, an Ingersoll publishing outlet. The whole outfit had Communist ties and resources.

I remember reading IF Stone’s journal at Union in 1959. My philosophy prof was a PhD from Boston U where I attended in the mid 60’s. There was still intellectual discipline at that time. All that is lost to the current scholarly crowd. I did not notice the influence of Marxism until the late 60’s in Boston, mostly around Harvard and MIT. It was most apparent in the SDS which was a disciplined communist front.
