He had his chance! Clear as Day! When Obama and Pelosi (and bush ) proposed the bailout...

MCCAIN SHOULD HAVE THROWN DOWN THE GAUNTLET AND OPPOSED IT.

80 % of the people were ready to support him right there. Plus, as it turns out, the bailout isn't working, so he could also have been right.

But he had to be a maverick and go with Barney Franks and Hanky paulson!

That 80% had eroded SHARPLY as the days went by and the MSM got to the people --Plus many conservatives came out for it

You are so right about this! Except it isn't a maverick move, it was his definition of a bipartisan capitulation, which simply means vote moderate/liberal!

The country did not want this bailout, but these slimely pricks gave it to us any way.

Ladies and gentlemen what more proof do you require in order to relize moderate/rino politicans like Bush and Mccain are no different than having liberals rule. They're worse than liberals. Conservatives can fight liberals, but have to conceeded to moderates for an appearence of unity in the republican party and it has basically desimated the conservative movement.

Conservatives are mostly to blame for this because we don't think we have to fight to win against moderates and rino's, but history tells a much different story.

The bailout isn't working? That's idiotic.

The legislation has been passed, but the bailout hasn't even started yet. Not one purchase has been made under it yet.

Not only that, if you think a credit crisis that has been winding into a ball for about 8 years now is going to unraveled overnight, that's ignorant.

Not only that, Paulson and other economists over and over have said the purpose of the "rescue plan" was simply to stabilize the economy within certain parameters, while within the parameters the market will be allowed to ruthlessly do its thing to prune out dead wood. Paulson has said over and over again that many more banks will fail and they will be "allowed" to fail as part of the normal business cycle.

Chemotherapy doesn't work overnight either.

The solution to the mortgage triggered crisis was never a govt. intervention in the market. No matter what we are going into a hard recession. It could be hard and short or long and chronic. We are going to get the latter.

If bambi wins with his plans to punish the rich and big business don't expect an expansion any time soon. So in addition to making the recession long and chronic with bambi it will be deeper.

McCain still has a chance, but he's got to stop being nice to bambi.
