The Rebellion Has Begun

What is that spirit that we recognize and can build on? What is that spirit that we want to connect to … that spirit of rebellion? The spirit of resistance ... the spirit of insurgency! It’s that spirit we should be talking about.

—Bill Ayers, 2007, on the occasion of the 40-year anniversary of the Weather Underground

Perhaps his wife, Bernadine Dohrn expressed that “spirit” best in a public warning at the zenith of the Weather Underground’s influence:

Now we are everywhere and next week families and tribes will attack the enemy around the country. We’re not just attacking targets; we’re bringing the pitiful, helpless giant (the USA) to its knees. Guard your planes … guard your colleges … guard your banks … guard your children … guard your doors.

This election long ago ceased to be a partisan battle between Republicans and Democrats. It really isn’t a contest over big and small government, higher or lower taxes, or even abortion and homosexual rights.

Somewhere along the way while most of us were enjoying our precious freedoms, taking kids to soccer, ordering pizza and listening to our iPods, there was another group of people who were at work to destroy America. Even as they enjoyed with us its benefits, they schemed and planned and, moment by moment, inch by inch gained a footing and we never realized the ground was shifting.

You could say the groundwork was laid in the ’50s when radicals who were often synonymous with communists made a concerted attempt to destroy America through infiltration of media, government and labor unions. Top secret documents were leaked to the Soviets which resulted in the charge of treason for Julius and Ethel Rosenberg. America believed in punishing its traitors then and they paid with their lives.

The children of the ’60s, raised in postwar prosperity on the “don’t discipline” philosophy of the wildly popular Dr. Benjamin Spock, were fertile young plants for leftist fodder. Throwing off all constraints, they embraced “free love,” unbridled drug use and turned with a vengeance on the parents whose system of values they had come from. Their indulgent refusal to embrace rules, coupled with legitimate simmering emotions of the black community over cruelty and discrimination, created the “perfect storm” of protest and violence—one group rejecting any restraint, the other rebelling from too much of it.

Surely the protest methods were as different as the participants. Hippies were often little more than clueless spoiled brats dulled by drugs, but others were serious radicals who preyed upon trouble and agitated it with the stated purpose of revolution. They wanted to overthrow the government of the United States of America. The black movement was characterized on the one hand by the high-minded non-violence of Dr. Martin Luther King, and on the other by the violent anger of the Black Panthers. The hate-filled factions of each, black and white, found each other and together nearly shipwrecked the country and undermined the Vietnam War. It was success for the rebellion in part … but not completely.

As those frustrated radicals came of age, they realized they would have to game the system, and improve their plans to accomplish their goals. They got advanced degrees and begin to fill colleges and universities. They slowly infiltrated the professional organizations of almost every major field of endeavor—education, medicine, retired citizens and unions. Gradually, these professional associations began to use their members’ money to fund leftist causes. Leftist leaders spoke for their membership as if they had the right. And perception became reality for the members. Then they did what all socialist regimes have done … they radicalized public school. They virtually eliminated the American story from history, removed civics, dumbed down math and science and English with outcome-based education. It became more important that kids had the right “thinking” on social and environmental issues than that they understood the academic disciplines. They took over law school faculties, co-opted many mainline Christian denominations—like Methodists and Presbyterians—and subtly replaced the teachings of scripture on man’s need for redemption with emphases on social justice and helping the poor. Man could now obtain his own redemption without any inconvenient mention of sin or moral behavior.

Once again they infiltrated Hollywood and news media, this time without consequence. In fact they managed to turn the consequences upon those opposing leftist views. They produced movies and reported news designed to support their view of the country—and it wasn’t a good one.

As with the communist agitators in Western Europe and later China, they learned to agitate, to find trouble and make it worse. Natural disasters, strikes, environmental concerns, the method was the same. Agitate. Stir up. Scare people and make things worse than they were so that people would look to their movement for “change.”

For nearly four decades, while we were living our lives and enjoying our freedoms, they were working diligently to destroy them. And now their plans have found the perfect personification in the handsome and charismatic Senator Barack Obama. But while he seems to bring new inspiration, their philosophy is as old as time.

They know who their inspiration is: Saul Alinsky, the ’60s author and philosopher of the left who profoundly influenced Hillary Clinton, Bill Ayres and Bernadine Dohrn and Barack and Michelle Obama. Alinksy stated clearly in the dedication of his famous treatise, “Rules for Radicals”:

To the very first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom—Lucifer.

The rebellion has found new strength. The attempted destruction of America has begun—and it is not a partisan fight.

No soldier wants a war, that said, I understand your feelings.

I have kept the following quote for many years:

"Adversity employs great talents; prosperity renders them useless and carries the inept, the corrupted wealthy and the wicked to the top.

May they bear in mind that virtue often contains the seeds of tyranny.

May they bear in mind that it is neither gold nor even a multitude of arms that sustains a state, but its morals.

May each of them keep in his house, in a corner of this field, next to his workbench, next to his plow, his gun, his sword, and his bayonet.

May they all be soldiers.

May they bear in mind that in circumstances where deliberation is possible, the advice of old men is good, but that in moments of crisis youth is generally better informed that its elders.

Denis Diderot

Apostrophe to the Insurgents, 1782

What's kind of annoying is that this thread will be so far down the list in a few hours that almost no one will see it and since it's not breaking news it'll just fade away.

You’re right. It would have to be done through an organization like Howard Jarvis’ group that got Prop 13 passed in California. Prop 13 led to a taxpayer revolt around the country.

I think enough people are mad enough to make it work. Why should we keep sending money to Washington when a) we need it ourselves more than ever and b) Washington can’t keep the sticky fingers off it and fritters away what’s left.

The biggest problem I see is that we’ve allowed non-taxpayers to outstrip those of us who do pay taxes. We’re outnumbered. But what the heck would they do if we all simply stopped paying?

What happens when Republicans are pushed too far and begin to riot? Bill Ayers and the Obamabots threatening riots seem to think that only they have the idea about political violence. When normal Americans see that the political violence is successful, and that that is the way to gain a hearing, why do the Ayers of this world, believe that only they will be violent.

The Communists and Socialist in pre-Nazi Germany preached violence, preached the all-powerful State and destroy the resistance of the German people to State violence. Too bad for the Commies and Sozis that they weren't the ones in power.

I listened to James Rosen's interview of Bill Ayers at Hugh Hewitt's Townhall blog podcast page. Ayers supports violence. Well, what is someone gets the idea to firebomb his home, like he did to Judge Murtagh's home in New York? Would he complain? Why?

Let's see, the last time I saw a "Republican Riot" was during the Florida aftermath of the 2000 election, when Republicans chanted "let the press in", "let the media in". At some point, if they don't start having a sense of fairness and justice, I'm afraid it ain't gonna stop there.

When an Obamabot sics the Secret Service on a woman, who was annoyed getting an Obama call on her cell phone. When McCain/Palin rally participants are routinely described as haters and Palin's inciting violence, while "thug thizzle" is ignored. The MSM/Democrats are boiling the pressure cooker so that at some point, it explodes. When, where or how, no one knows. But afterward, no one will have been surprised.

“I just lost 50% of my retirement savings and my house is worth a fraction of what it once was.”

My husband and I are in a similar “boat”. We got out of the stock market (with a nice loss) and we’re moving our remaining cash assets “closer to home”, to an FDIC guaranteed account in a hometown bank. We’re keeping a considerable sum of cash in a safe place at home. Your best mechanism for conserving your worth is to consider buying more real estate and some gold.

I hate how powerless AND mad this whole situation makes me feel.

Can't you just feel it in the air?  I've never felt this strongly that's something's gonna give, from their side or ours.  For them the frustration of losing the last 2 elections plus the loss of the Messiah could finally do it.  For us, well, we know what is potentially at stake.

General Petraeus and great men and women of his ilk (and that includes MOST everyone on this site). Not for nothing did he and his fellow soldiers, sailors, and airmen commit their lives and fortunes to preserve, protect, and defend the greatest country the world has ever known. They were there for us then they will be there for us when the time comes

"But what the heck would they do if we all simply stopped paying?"

Just what they are doing now. Run the presses nonstop and charge the interest to our progeny. We are being devalued at a massive rate right now. We have been building wealth and our portfolios for 30 years now and it was time for the thieves to step in and take it. But rest assured they will try to stop before the masses get desperate enough to answer the call to open rebellion. Their motto for us "Shut up and take it."

It’s getting to that point. The media, the Obama Crash, voter fraud. There is no more trust in government. How much will we take? Who will lead a willing, but inexperienced army of frustrated citizens?

One important insight they've learned is that pussies can't make a revolution.

Another lesson they have learned is:

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." (Edmund Burke)

What will be the tipping point for good man move from passive means to active means?

What happens when Republicans are pushed too far and begin to riot?

Republicans don't riot, they might get their hands dirty and someone might say they are mean spirited and hurt their sensitive feelings

Conservatives don't riot either. We organize, make a plan and execute that plan.

Mobs riot

A fairness doctrine will be killed by the courts, if not by lobbyists first.

Any attempt to regulate content on the Internet that doesn’t involve child porn will laughed off.

We stop the left in this country by getting involved in politics as well as in our communities. Run for office, join the PTA, get involved in professional groups, stay informed, etc...

This won’t be a violent struggle. It’ll continue to be a grind it out every day one. We will have to continue to remind and reveal to our countrymen that this nation is a constitutional republic, and that their rights and liberties are under assault every day.

We will have much more influence and success by resisting thoughtfully and steadfastly than by throwing around loose talk of armed confrontation.

Don’t forget to take names and addresses of those that work in the media and the media stations/plants themselves.

I still believe that there will be a charge of criminal conspiracy under the RICO federal statute leveled against Obama, Ayers, Dean, Frank, Raines, Thompson, Soros, & all at ACORN & Consumer Research Institute, etc. and the investigations into acorn in 13 states and McCain’s “outing” of Ayers and the outing of Wright, Pfleger, Farrakhan, Khalidi, and Rezko, etc. is this
RICO in motion at a very high level (it doesn;t get any higher).

If they get Obama off the ballot with a RICO approach, they’re counting on McCain being able to spell the why behind this mess to the average person well enough that they will understand why not to vote for Obama and McCain-Palin win.

The other possibility is the current government is about to declare martial law (claiming due to the severe economic instability) and pull a military coup on itself (and that is why the amount of $700 billion was really needed).

Lastly, Berg’s federal lawsuit could come to fruition and make electioneers take Obama’s name off the ballot due to ineligibility based on lack of American citizenship.

Is there ANY hope in any of what I’ve written?

Logistics. You can provide a safehouse, provide whatever technical expertise you two had in your careers, find out who the local marxist collaborators are in your area, keep a list of crimes committed by them, observe enemy movements, etc. There’s no end to the help you and your husband can provide. =)
