STATEMENT FROM MCCAIN-PALIN SPOKESWOMAN MEG STAPLETON

Friday, October 10, 2008

ARLINGTON, VA — McCain-Palin 2008 spokeswoman Meg Stapleton issued the following statement on today’s release of Stephen Branchflower’s report:

“Today’s report shows that the Governor acted within her proper and lawful authority in the reassignment of Walt Monegan. The report also illustrates what we’ve known all along: this was a partisan led inquiry run by Obama supporters and the Palins were completely justified in their concern regarding Trooper Wooten given his violent and rogue behavior. Lacking evidence to support the original Monegan allegation, the Legislative Council seriously overreached, making a tortured argument to find fault without basis in law or fact. The Governor is looking forward to cooperating with the Personnel Board and continuing her conversation with the American people regarding the important issues facing the country.”

Tell me about it, why do people insist upon farting in the wind?

It's the challenge, mainly.

Let’s see how he looks when (if?) Rezko starts singing next week as rumored.

Though I’m not his biggest fan, I loved what Dick Morris said to Michael Steele on H&C tonight. I’m paraphrasing but it was something like:

“Obama has Rezko as a “financial adviser”, Ayers as a close associate, and Raines as his “housing adviser”, and they want to make a big deal of this because they were trying to get a cop who tasered his own son off the street?”

I saw that too. Sarah should use that quote in her stump speeches. I also liked what Morris said about the public being terrified of Obama, if only McCain would give them assurances to vote for him (McCain) instead.

Alan Colmes smirk of glee on Hannity and Colmes tonite as he reported this story, was absolutely sickening.

Oh yeah, I watched that little sniveling idiot rat fink hoping someone would just punch his lights out.

If only.

“McCain is standing by Sarah.”

Yeah, but for how long? He too easily “reaches across the aisle”. He may try to “reach across the aisle” again and dump her to make nice with Dems.

We have to say on the old man and pretty much let him now dumping Palin WILL be the final straw. He dumps her, we stay home on election day and prepare to take up arms to fight our coming Facist dictator Obama!

“Toe sucker also said that if she abused power to get a dangerous trooper off the street she should abuse power. Her job is to make the streets safe for Alaskans.”

I saw that and it was a great smack down of Colmes!

It should be spun as a HUGE positive:

McCain should immediately release a statement:

“When Sarah sees a wrong, she will act within her power and within the law to right it, even if it is unpopular and questioned by the good ‘ol boy cronies of the political establishment. Imagine if we had her fighting along side me against the corruption in Fannie/Freddie many years ago.”

McCain/Palin can not afford to let the negative spin on this story dominate even a single news cycle.

Hit back hard and use it show that a strong-willed reformer such as Sarah would have blown the whistle on the Democrats in congress and their myopia that led to the financial meltdown.

This is where the idiots that run our campaigns forget to put the hammer down. They should have noted the DemoRat that was in charge of this panel was a big time Obama supporter. You got to get those digs in.

Reading is your friend:

Heh. I’m thinking about setting up a book on this. I really think McCain’s going to toss her out for this, and that’s a crime.

I’ve been politically involved since the 60’s and have seen worse. If they didn’t fear her, she wouldn’t get the attention she is getting. How much have you heard about Biden in comparison to Palin … even conservatives don’t fear him. Have faith, she’s tough and will survive AND will be our first Female President in 2012. ;-)

Oh come on, give me a break. No way in hell does McCain use this decision to his campaign’s advantage. The man is neutered, plain and simple.

Much sadness abounds that after all these weeks and the continuous efforts of MSM hordes, that they have really found nada zip zilch to embarrass the fine Gov of Alaska.

McCain/Palin really need to quote this part of the report as part of future releases, and get it out to the MSM.

Governor Palin’s firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

They should include this exact quote. No paraphrases. This is very very important. What the AP and the other MSM are doing is unconscionsble. McCain should quote this part of the report verbatim during his next debate and take the lying MSM to task for their outrageous lies and distortions about Sarah Palin.
