McCain surely should have seen this coming. In 1992 Clinton bought a 30-minute slot the night before the election. So did Perot. Only Bush failed to do so. Bush missed a golden opportunity to appeal to Perot voters one last time.

Will McCain make the same mistake? He MUST buy as much time as Obama does.

Problem is people won’t watch McCain speaking for a 1/2 hour. Like it or not McCain isn’t as smooth or capable in this area.

I think the true purpose of this is to challenge McCain on the economy. Then, any mention of Ayers, etc... will look like McCain avoiding the top issue. Obama will provide lots of BS details and McCain will have to come off his plan to respond.
